Dawn of the Dead. It was the 2004 (I think) remake, so I was expecting it to be really bad. Not that I've seen the original. Zombie's aren't particularly my cup o tea, but I do like watching horror movies so I gave it a shot. I was glad I did :D First of all, Jake Weber - yay! What a pleasant surprise he was :). Second, it was just a really good movie. Everything from the apocalyptic song at the start to the dog

not dying for once!

- it was really good. One minute I was complaining that the characters weren't doing what I'd be doing if I was trapped in a mall with certain death surrounding me on all sides... the next they were playing chess, shooting zombies for fun, and making coffee ^_^ THAT's how I'd want to go out. I approve :)

The other night I watched Queen of the Damned. I'd been avoiding it for years because I didn't want it to taint Interview With the Vampire - one of my all time favourite movies - but I found that it was completely different, so after a while the loose connection didn't worry me that much. Lestat was surprisingly acceptable and not too far removed from Tom Cruise's arrogant, narcissistic depiction. That's the main thing. Nowhere near as good as Dawn of the Dead, but watchable. Just. Although the guy might want to learn to mime if he wants me to believe he's a famous rock star who just happens to sound exactly like Jonathan Davis...

^My thought exactly, though I did love the little Jon Davis cameo that was in there

Last movie I saw was Eight Below for the 10thish time. Love that movie, always makes me cry though, at the end

when he finds his dogs

:)
