I'm not 100% sure on this, Eli, Cal would be the best person to ask, but...

Eire = The Irish Republic

Stormont = seat of government in Northern Ireland

Ulster = Northern Ireland

Sinn Fein = Republican political party

RUC = the police force in Northern Ireland

UVF = Loyalist paramilitary organisation

Orange Order = the largest Protestant organisation

Falls Road = Catholic area in Belfast

Shankhill Road = Protestant area in Belfast

Unionist = a Loyalist

Hope that helps, Eli. x

That's bang on! :wink:

Ulster also consists of one Irish county called Donegal. :)

Eire is Irish for Ireland, but nobody really says that anymore. :P

More than one pupil = pupils (s meaning that it's plural)

pupils' = example: the pupils' book - genitive (indicating possession)

Thanks, I wasn't sure anyone would reply so I tried looking it up (it was a bit hard because it seems like it's a county in the US named after every single one of those expressions) but I wasn't sure if I had everything right. Now I do, so thanks :D

I feel so thick! For the past 16 years, I've been spelling the genitive form as Pupil's.... woops! :P

But wouldn't it be "Pupil's book" if you're talking about one pupil? and "Pupils' book" if it's plural?

Sorry if that's just stupid, I just got really confused...
