This is probably the weirdest thing I have been asking about so far, but I have a vegetable-related question for all the geniuses out there...

I tried googling it, but the problem is I have NO idea what this vegetable is called in English so, it's hard to find info about it. Here's a pic:

In school today we were talking about proteins and amines (?) and our biology teacher told us that proteins and amines "leaks" out in the urin when the body is breaking it down and getting rid of it (I'm sorry if I'm getting this wrong, I'm not good at biology-stuff as you might have guessed from my use of words and terms :P ).

She said that we find amines in a lot of vegetables, and I started thinking about the movie "Election" where the girls eat this vegetable (whatever it's called) and then chack how long it goes before their pee smells different because this vegetable changes the smell.

So I wondered: is there a lot of amines in this vegetable? And if there is, is that the reason why the smell is different?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out with this weird question. My teacher didn't know, and now I just HAVE to find out, it's driving me crazy!!
