can somebody please help me

What type of acid does sulfur dioxide form?

It forms sulfuric acid (H2SO4).

You need to oxidize sulfur dioxide to sulfur trioxide, and then it reacts with water to form the acid.

Hope that helps. :)

Hey all,

I'm in my final year at university in the UK doing a BA Geography degree, and my dissertation is titled:

'Soapy Water: The Geography of Soap Opera Fandom.'

Basically this consists of 2 main aims:

1. looking at the demographics of soap fans on internet forums.

2. looking at the consumer society of soaps - merchandise and memorabilia - what there is and who is buying it.

I would therefore love some help from you guys please.

If you would like to help my research, I have a few questions for you to answer:

- What soaps do you watch and how often do you watch them?

- what soap merchandise do you buy if any? eg. soap magazines, dvds etc

- do you collect any soap memorabilia? eg. autographs

- Gender

- Age (under 20, 21-59, 60+)

- Occupation

- Where you live (town, city or area)

- Finally, I would really appreciate it if you could write a few words on why you are a fan of soaps, what you think makes a fan, and anything else you may think is relevant!

I hope these last few questions are impersonal enough for you to answer. Any information you give will be treated in confidence in my dissertation and names will be changed. You may email me your answers if you don't want to write them on the message board.

I would be really grateful any information and feedback you can give me, and all will be very appreciated for research for my dissertation.

Many thanks,

Emily

What do you mean by soaps, specifically? Do you mean shows that are on every day, like H&A and Neighbours, or do you mean series like Heroes and Desperate Housewives as well that are weekly, but carry on from the last episode?

(I'm a bit tired to do this now, but I might come back to it.)

By soaps i mean those that are on every day - Home and Away and Neighbours.

In the UK - Eastenders, Coronation Street etc.

Mod-note: I've merged your thread with the Homework help-thread. Please don't start new threads if what you want to say/ask can be covered in one of the existing threads. Use the search-function.

Umm... I guess I watch soaps because they provide an escapism from real life, and you get to know, and sometimes empathise/sympathise with, the characters over time.

Uh...I suppose because they're so dramatic, and have a large ensemble cast so there's always someone you can relate to. That, and they use sensationalism and ongoing storylines/cliffhangers to suck you in so you REALLY NEED TO KNOW what's going to happen next.
