Assignment 1 Lexicology - ENG150 Uses of English

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

:o

Wow.

And here I am about to leave for an English teaching job overseas......

I feel inadequate now!

Why do you feel that? Where are you going to teach?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Because your English is better than mine!!

I'm going to South Korea initially, then moving on to somewhere in Europe.

Does anybody know how to perform an IF function on Microsoft Excel?

I don't know how to do it myself but when I'm stuck with Microsoft programmes I always go to Microsoft homepage and search for the programme. It takes you to the homepage of that programme (this is the link for the excel homepage). Once you're at the homepage of the programme you need help with click on the communities link on the left hand side. From there you can ask a question and get an answer back off an expert.

I put the question in for you and it returned this:

The syntax of the IF function is

=IF(test,result_if_true,result_if_false)

where test is a comparison or expression that returns TRUE (or a

non-zero number) or FALSE (or zero), and result_if_true is the

result to be returned if test is TRUE and result_if_false is the

result to be returned if test is FALSE. E,g,

=IF(A1>10,"greater","not greater")

This will return the text "greater" if A1>10, otherwise it will

return the text "not greater".

It all seems a bit complicated to me but maybe you'll be able to understand it. I've requested help in a simpler format and will receive notification if any arrives so when it does I'll post it up for you.
