Simultaneous Equations Help?

I just can't grasp what to do:

"Solve Simultaneously"

"2x + 3y = 8"

"3x + 2y = 7"

I don't know if it really IS easy, but my teacher did it so complex on the board and he lost me. o.O

i'm not sure if your going to get how i explain, but i'll try (btw. what year are you in? i'm doing these atm :) )

first, you have to get either the Y's or the X's to the same amount. so

say you want the X's to be equal, you times each line by the other so

3(2x + 3y = 8)

2(3x + 2y = 7)

=

6x + 9y = 24

6x + 4y = 14

then subtract the botton line from the top to eliminate the X's

5y = 10

divide by 5

y = 2

THEN substitute y = 2 into either equation

2x + 3(2) = 8

2x + 6 = 8

minus 6 from each side

2x = 2

divide by 2

x = 1

i hope thats right....

and sorry if that made NO sence at all!

The first three are right. :D

Repetition of vowel sounds - Alliteration

Sorry I only know that one. :(

I'll add them if I figure out the other ones. :)

Assonance is repetition of vowel sounds to create internal rhyming within phrases or sentences, and together with alliteration and consonance serves as one of the building blocks of verse. For example, in the phrase "Do you like blue?", the "oo" (ou/ue) sound is repeated within the sentence and is assonant.
