Same goes for the off/on relationship between Clark & Lana. I was a big fan when Smallville first started and I followed it even when my favourite character (Whitney) left. I was in it for the pure subtext between Clark/Lex. The Clex was going through the first two seasons but then the writers realized that Clana was being over taken by the Clex love and shot it down. Plus Channel 4 never showed Season 4
