There are some great points being made here about Rachel's reaction, particularly the observation that she is human and will have human reactions. I think the problem is that the Rachel we have seen in the past has been such a compassionate and empathetic person (sometimes to the point of ridiculousness) that we have grown to expect that of her. And so when we see her lashing out, it seems out of character. It must have been horrible for her to come out of that situation to realize that all her loved ones assumed she had run away of her own free will.

The point that Charmed60 made about Belle as well is a very pertinent one and something that all the Rachel-haters have conveniently ignored. Belle knows as much as Rachel about what Aden has and is going through. She acted out of fear for her own self-preservation and not compassion. The fact that she did not even have the courage to face him afterwards to explain herself, to allow him to explain himself, is something I found quite gutless of Belle. I know she was scared and confused but in the end, you must always have faith in the person that you know is there deep down, til the point where they prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are not that person you thought they were.

The promo also showed Roman talking to Belle and saying that she might be the only one Aden will open up to, so I hope she musters up the strength to see him and show him some compassion and understanding. She must know that her love for him is what is keeping him going.

Surely Rachel should be examining her relationship with Tony and her friends. She goes missing, Tony and Leah immediately assume she has done a runner, there is a pathetic attempt to look for her, then Tony goes away. Tony obviously doesn't trust her at all, and as for Leah! some best friend.

yeah I agree, Rachel's "friends" were very quick to make the wrong assumptions about her being missing. Surely they would realize she would have the decency to talk to them about any problems she may have had about the wedding if they existed, instead of just running away from it all. That has never been Rachel's way.

And Leah....don't get me started on Leah......I thought she was actually OK to Kirsty in that episode when she came into the Diner.......that's until Kirsty made mention of Miles........then Leah was straight back to her irrational jealous self.

I noticed recently Rachel in the opinion of most fans can do no right.

I mean she was hated for just accusing Jimmy with no concrete proof. Then when Jimmy tells her about Aden, instead just calling the cops without being 100% sure, she goes to ask him first, she gets hated for sticking her nose in.

I can almost see the comments that would have shown up had she called the cops on Aden.

> How can Rachel be so mean to just accuse him, doesn't she know how much his been through lately and she calls herself a therapist.

I would suggest we all team up and go over to the Anti-Rachel thread but that is a scary place to be right now!

Not as scary as the Aden/Belle thread.I think it was when I read the post that said Rachel deserved to rot in jail that I decided to shut it down and never open it again in case I said something indiscreet and they sent a lynch mob after me.

It was the same thing when she 'attacked' Sally after she jilted Brad. Everyone suddenly when into a tirade of Rachel hating because, you know, it was Sally. How dare she speak out against the show's most popular character, never mind the fact that Sally had just left Brad standing at the alter. Whether or not Rachel was out of order in both cases isn't really the point, the fact that everyone is using the 'she's a psychiatrist' line against her is pathetic in my opinion. So what, she's a doctor, does she have to be a doctor all the time? Is she not allowed to be irrational and angry? Everyone is guilty of it at one point or other but because it is golden boy Aden on the receiving end there has to be this awful backlash. Why does either one of them have to be in the wrong? I think it's quite easy to empathise with both of them as victims in their own way.

I for one found Rachel's readiness to forgive Reverand Hall quite unbelievable, this to me is a much more realistic and human reaction.

It's good to see Rachel's resourceful side and caring nature being shown again. There should be more resourceful scenes given to Rachel though.

Amy gave a strong performance being held captive, showing her strengths in times of adversity and making the scenes very real and full of emotion. It must have been exhausting and draining doing those scenes and she pulled it off believingly well. :D
