AngelRose Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Alf stood behind the bar at Noah’s, put the money for a bottle of water in the till, raised the bottle slightly to the picture of poor young Noah on the opposite wall and took a long cool drink. The place was in between crowds just now and Alf wiped down the bars and having checked his watch flicked the switch which allowed the alcoholic optics to be opened. As he did so he noticed a note in Beth’s handwriting on the order pad. It read: “Alf, Found this on the floor of the Ladies & didn’t know what to do with it. What do you think? Beth.” Wrapped in tissue-paper beside the note he found a small, delicate gold bracelet. He picked up the piece but found no initial or inscription. It was pretty, someone was bound to miss it. He’d put it in the till tonight and if it wasn’t claimed that evening he’d lock it in the safe and ask Jack’s advice. Before he could think about any more however, Kim came in an after work drink.
