Irene handed Tasha a tissue and smiled: “Of course you can Darl. If you couldn’t, there’d be a no reason for some folks to get together!” “But then why doesn’t someone just tell Mac what going on?” Tasha’s wide-eyed question was naive. Irene carefully bit back a smile. Sometimes these days she completely forgot how ‘unconventional’ Tasha’s life before Summer Bay had been: “If you tried to tell Mac, she’d deny it to you and herself and ‘loose her rag’ with you. She would be much too afraid of losing her best friend if everything went wrong.” She explained. Tasha chewed her lip deep in thought:: “I THINK I understand Renee. But if ONLY she could see it, she’d have at least a chance of beating this!” They both sighed heavily.

AngelRose Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Jack headed up the path to the Simpson Place, keen to see Martha again but with a lot on his mind. Could this work? Would Martha even go for it? How on earth was he even going to bring up the subject with her? Mac was so independent and feisty that he was almost afraid that she may slap him for even making such a wild suggestion. Either way he decided, work was not the place to raise the subject; he’d take her somewhere after work, or maybe wait until Sunday. Oh, he could hear the voice of his conscious calling him a coward, and if he was honest maybe he was, but he just COULDN’T bare the thought that his beloved Martha would only agree to become his to get herself out of a fate worse than death! Unbidden his thoughts ran away with him about EXACTLY what marrying Martha would mean but he forced himself to lock his imagination away & found himself the most physically taxing job he could find, outside.

Awww, I love this fic! I remember staying up and reading this fic, then getting up the next morning and finishing it. I loved it that much. He he.. You've made me all happy now! Lol. Thanks!
