rising-flame Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 it was actually kinda two questions. i had forgotten it was all in a dream state, but i still believe that it is demon dean now! and second can a person exorcise themselves?

(Sorry, I'm relatively knew to the actually paying attention side of things lol. I've spent all my time up until this week's episode staring at Sam ) Well, like I said, I suppose it's possible. But being that it was a dream, I think it was more likely a metaphor for what he would become after going to Hell, and he was fighting against that fate. I don't think the dream really changed anything, except for Dean's own perception of the situation. Before that, he'd been completely resigned to going to Hell, and didn't want to bother fighting it. That's why Sam has been so angry at him, because Dean won't even try to save himself. I think after facing his demon self in the dream, and realising that he wasn't a bad person and didn't deserve to become that, he gained the will to fight back in the real world. Isn't Sam part demon or something anyway? Or did I imagine that...
rising-flame Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 The yellow eyed demon asked if Sam was brought back "whole" which kinda asks the question is he still human? I think in buffy after joyce dies and Dawn wants to bring her back, they comment she wouldn't be human anymore. So Sam may not be entirely human. did you work out the story with the mum, something about her friends dying as well indicating she wasn't as innocent as Sam believed.

I plan to force my friend into a marathon DVD viewing very shortly As for Buffy, I think that was more of a zombie situation - Joyce wouldn't be in there at all, it would just be a reanimated corpse, possibly with demonic intentions. I suppose Sam would be more like Angel - a good person with a human soul that has a demon inside him. Then again, if their mother has some kind of secrecy around her, I suppose that Sam's real father could be a demon. Actually, that might explain why their father seems to have paid more attention to Sam - maybe he was watching him closely to see if there were any signs of the demon in him coming out. Now that I think about it, did Dean's dad tell him to "look after" Sam, or to "watch" him...?

I've got all the episodes downloaded from when they were shown on us telly, but plan to buy the boxsets very soon. Hadn't considered that Sam might be demon spawn! would explain a few things. Also wish we'd find out a bit more about their mother. What episode are you up to? As you're in australia know idea how far along you are! although they are due to be making another 3-6 episodes now the writers strike is ended
emmasi Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 The "Groundhog Day" episode just aired on Monday - Sam reliving the day, and Dean dying over and over again. It was kinda harsh, but I do so love episodes that mess around with time like that. I don't really want to start downloading the newer ones. Supernatural is one of only 2 hour long dramas (not counting my Gilmore Girls repeats) that I'm getting any pleasure out of these days. I need to keep it as something to look forward to
