I've enjoyed the show from the beginning. It's not something I'm massively into, I never remember episode titles for a start, but it's probably something I'll buy on DVD in about 10 years' time, just before the format gets made obsolete...Unless you're someone who's very good at picking up a series, I would recommend starting at the start. The basic format of the show, two brothers fighting monster of the week, is roughly unchanged but I think if you turned up in the middle of the run you'd be very aware that there's a whole lot of back story that you've missed out on.Even the whole "missing father" storyline which was a strong features of the early days was pretty much over by the end of season one.

Plus it's got Jensen Ackles in it, who was brilliant in Dark Angel and, um, completely wasted in Smallville.

Today I discovered that Fox 8 is running an old series of Supernatural on Mondays - during the day, when I'm home and when there's nothing else on. Which means I can still get my Sammy & Dean fix, even though Dexter's taken over the prime time spot. Yay! :D
