The fact they had so many trust issues is a start, no good basis for a healthy relationship. I reckon they could have become more dependent on each other rather than love, maybe a brotherly/sister close friendship love, but no longer romantically. Plus Kirsty was/is still only a kid with all her hormones...etc

I don't think that K/K should come back - as others have said, they've had their time, their chapter is closed and, IMO, it should stay that way. They're on their way to becoming classic characters (and rightly so) because people remember them for their last storyline and the power and interest that it had and generated over the audience. If they were to come back a) It might not be what the K/K 'shippers are hoping for (Chloe in the 4000th episode celebrations), their happiness could potentially be jeapordised. Also, any subsequent storylines they are given will never be able to live up to the viewers' previous recollections of the storyline, whether they are accurate or not. And besides, if all the K/K 'shippers out there claim to love the couple so much, why would you want them to come back to the Bay, only for more anguish and tragedy to befall them. Let the poor couple lead a peaceful existence away from the Bay!

I would actually want K/K back even if they had really crap storylines, its mostly the actor that I care about and want to see back more then the storylines

I think you would change your mind if they gave them really terrible storylines. It would taint your view of them. What if they brought them back and made them split up, or one of them had an affair? It's best to remember them as they were IMO, although I would love to see a guest spot now and again.

Flynn and Josh, two of the main characters in the Kane/Kirsty story, are now dead. The only links they would have in the Bay are Irene, Tasha, Colleen and Alf. Going by H&A's record, who knows how long any of those will stay alive?

Don't forget Beth, she was Kirsty's step mother, they were pretty close and she was very supportive of Kirsty after Rhys moved to the city to be with Shelley.

I loved how Beth had a closeness with both Kirsty and Kane. I think Kane said Beth was like a mother to him at one point. I guess Irene was too. It seemed she thought of Kirsty and Kane as son and daughter. She was devastated when they left

I think it was the circumstances surrounding there departure. Irene just has extreme empathy for all troubled teens. I know its been mentioned once that she throws everything into helping kids in need as a kinda way to make up for the mess she made of bringing her own up. But she genuinely does care obviously.

And Robbie and Matilda are Kirsty's step-siblings. Plus they had quite a bit to do with Sally (particularly when Kane had cancer and when Sally tutored Kirsty for her HSC). And they knew Leah and Dan too. So quite a lot of people really!
