^ Aw Clare, all better now????

Anyway, wanted to ask how come you have to pick up another AS next year? I wanted to carry on four subjects (Eng Lit, History, French and German) to A2, but my school basically said I would fail, even though I was top in the year in GCSE and got 4 As at AS. They are effing liars - I worked 3 afternoons a week and Saturdays through yr13 and got 3 As, I could have easily done all 4, not dropped English. But I did earn a lot of money. I saved none, though, so I am very poor now, but I had such a good year!!!!

The point I was trying to make is, how come you can't just do three A2s if you don't fancy any other subjects?

ETA: Ooops, I came in this thread for a reason - Welcome all newbies, have fun xxx

I have to drop my Law AS this year, i have no choice. They also suggest you pick up another AS to make up hours or something. I could have done 4 A Levels though.

No, we were encouraged just to do three subjects in yr13. They tried to make me do 5 ASs though. I was not convinced.

They wanted me to do Philosophy and Ethics as well as my others - so basically, the three hefitiest essay subjects offered, plus two languages, which also have a lot of essays and a LOT of rote-learning. Umm.....NO NO NO!!!

Yep, Maths was something else they tried to make me do. I still, to this day, do not know what ratio is, beyond the very basic (i.e. 2:1. 3:1). I don't think that getting a good GCSE grade in something means you can do the A-level, you have to really like the subject, and actually care what ratio is - I do not. I still add up using my fingers, for goodness sake, I couldn't do Maths.

I'm the same when it comes to Maths. Can you believe in my GCSE it took me 20 minutes to answer a 5 point question because i couldn't figure out the ratio of something. It turned out i had got the ratio right, but the two numbers i was supposed to be using were 3 and 7. I added it and made 11. What a dumbass.

LOL : )
