adellejefferiesxox Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 its been more than a year, or maybe two years since I sent a longish letter to Jessica Tovey..... I requested an autograph....and haven't recieved anything. I sent a letter to Todd too, I asked for a autograph but I only got a photocopied version. I can easily print one from the internet. I'm really down about this. I don't know why I bothered trying, bothered to wait, and bothered to write a letter of my admiration for these actors. It's a real let down. Sounds like some people have more than one genuine autographed photo. I don't know whether it's even worth trying again. Does anyone know the address to send it to.... Quote

Granted these are people with busy schedules but at times it becomes painfully obvious who can find the time to write to their fans and who cannot. The general rule when it comes to writing to the H&A cast is that the older cast members seem to be much better about responding to their fan mail than the younger cast. Lynne, Lyn, Ray and Esther all respond pretty quickly to fancard inquiries and all seem to be relatively appreciative of their fans. Of the more recent cast both Lisa Gormley and Sonia Todd seem to keep up with their fanmail pretty well from what I've seen as well. However when you are writing to the younger cast, there really are no guarantees that they will write back. Sometimes they do and quite frankly sometimes they don't. For the record the one person that I've never seen anyone correspond with successfully is Josh Quong Tart. I don't know if he doesn't sign as a rule or whatnot but have never personally known of anyone to get a reply from him. On the flipside of that is Laurie Foell who portrayed Angie/Josie on the show years back. She actually still responds to fanmail and from everything I've read seems like one of the most genuinely gracious people around. So I guess the lesson in all this is it takes all kinds. Personally, the only autographs I've ever gotten from Lasance and Tovey are as follows: I have Todd Lasance's signature on a cast signed poster signed by the entire H&A cast at the time (minus JQT) and I have an non-personalized autograph from Jessica Tovey on a fancard I picked up off eBay. Being that neither are on the show anymore, I figure their autographs wouldn't be the easiest to get at this point. Best of luck to you though Edited March 1, 2011 by jldraw Quote
jldraw Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Yeah Roo has one now and the River Boys will be getting one each too, probably in next 6-8 weeks I would have thought. Late reporting this but Georgie Parker's fancard is also on eBay now if you want to take a look. The seller bundled it with two fancards issued while she was on All Saints. Quote
Yellow601 Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 Got a reply from Lyn Collingwood today. Signed fancard. Took about a month. She's great with her fanmail. But always signs down the bottom in same spot in her tiny handwritting. Quote
adellejefferiesxox Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 Just disappoining that I know people who have signatures from these two actors when the were on the show and when I did sent in my request. I doesn't help when they don't visit places like QLD.....Melbourne, Perth, places in sydney home and away stars visit..... feel like I'm outta luck. I'm probably better off moving to Sydney (not that it will happen). I like Esther, but I couldn' be bothered taking time to write a decent letter of appreciation when it's going to go to waste. Anyway...For those who are interested what address do people sent it to? Quote
tessalove Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 Yeah sorry to hear that you didn't get a reply.... Getting people that are no off the show would be so much harder! Jessica wasn't easy when she was on the show, or so I found and now that she is gone I think it would be near to impossible. Todd was rather good, but when he got more popular I think he may have become slower or stopped signing completely. I tried him a few times, but never got anything back. I guess it's just the luck of the draw, and I have to agree that a lot of the younger cast aren't very good with replying, Josh, Luke Jacobz, Tessa... etc I have never seen a reply from them, maybe one or two from Tessa. Esther used to be really good with fanmail, but lately no one has had anything back from her, maybe it is just because everyone on here already has her. I think when a cast member first starts they keep up to date with their fanmail, but once they get popular it must be harder, like Luke Mitchell I think he replied to everyone at the start but I haven't heard anyone getting anything back from him since. Rhiannon, Samara, Lisa and Charles seem to be replying, and I hope they don't stop because I sent out the them last week because I got weird successes with no signatures. On twitter both Lisa and Rhiannon told me that they keep up to date with their fanmial but the mail offices are very slow, so I'll have to wait and see! I love collecting autographs, and although sometimes the waiting is awful it's something you have to do! It also makes it a lot more exciting when you get an autograph in the post, most of the time I find they come when you least expect it! Lets hope everyone that sent to the Riverboys gets a response! And whoever else you wrote to! Sorry if that post was a bit long, but I'm sure a lot of you agree with most of it! El Xo Quote
tessalove Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 Congrats on your Lyn reply also! Yeah its strange how she signs lol... Quote
maciam Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Hi everyone. I have some fancards, pre-printed ones to trade/sell if anyone of you are interessted. I'm also trying to find older fancards. Can anyone help me, please? jldraw Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 (edited) Now these aren't mine nor should this message be take as a solicitation to buy, but since people are consistently asking about fancards and how to obtain them, there is an auction right now on eBay for a basically complete set of B&W fancards from the "The Glory Years" of 1993-1996. In my opinion, these earlier cards are extremely hard to fake due to how they were originally printed as well as due to the fact that most of them are quite rare by now and therefore are likely all authentic fancards. Although they all appear to be unsigned it is still rare to find all of these in one place. Pretty good way to start off your collection... Edited March 6, 2011 by jldraw Quote
Skylover Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 Thanks for the heads up, Jldraw. I'm going to bid on them. Has anyone else written to the River Boys yet? Or Roo? I'm going to send some new letters tomorrow. I'm not sure if I've posted pictures of these before, but here are pictures of my fan cards and letters framed: Quote
