I have to say, that must be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard! How do they suppose the kids will cope in uni/working life?

Haha! Me neither! I tried when we were on the temp. board to make an example in the rules on how not to write, but I gave up.

Or I'll just release my PMS in here... to soothe the boyfriend, who's definitely had enough of it for one day.

Please not :P We've (Well I've) seen you when you've moderated people, PLEASE don't go pms'ing :P lol *hides*

Txt talk is awful! Occasionally I do abbreviate some words when I am actually texting, but you can still understand what I'm saying. And I use full punctuation (even semicolons sometimes) but then I am a bit of a grammar geek.

I can't believe what Emmadolly said about her step-daughter's school, that is disgusting! How do they expect the students to pass their exams? And I can't believe no one took the time to listen to your complaint, that is really bad. Maybe you could speak to someone higher up about it.

I sometime write "ppl" instead of "people" if were taking notes in class, I hate it but our teatcher talks to fast ans writes on the blackboard (sp?) to fast  I always gets in a fight with him because of that.

But that's really all the "txt talk" I use, becuase I hate it!

I use my own language and abbreviations when I'm taking notes, but would never ever use them in an exam and wouldn't expect other people to understand them. I think it's something you develop as you go through school and uni, I know if I didn't then I would miss things in lectures. One of my friends writes out everything and her notes just aren't as detailed as mine because she doesn't move fast enough. I still don't use text speak though, as I don't really understand it, it confuses me. I don't shorten everything though, just certain words that come up over and over (like Fr=France; G=Germany; Gm=German; revn=revolution; rxn=reaction; rship=relationship), but I would write out because, people, to etc in full, not text language. Also you don't use full sentences when taking notes.

Excactly. My point. My four yr old son told his sister, who is my step daughter. How to spell where and here, and even her name. I could not stop my self laughing for ages, she felt a right fool, as she is 15. LOL.

She want's to become a physiotherapist when she leaves school, but as i pointed out to her, she can't spell it. So i don't think she will get very far with out txt. Sad really.?????????. But i will try to help her as much as i can.
