Emmadolly Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 Hi girls. Really sorrry to hear your bad news Mer.
MarMar Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 Emma: When you suggested that I might have endometriosis, I didn't believe you. My sister has it, and her periods have always been very painfull. She has aslo been in apin when she does not have her period. But, I stumbled upon this now, just to check it out: Pain may be felt: * before/during/after menstruation * during ovulation * in the bowel during menstruation * when passing urine * during or after sexual intercourse * in the lower back region Other symptoms may include: * diarrhoea or constipation (in particular in connection with menstruation) * abdominal bloating (again, in connection with menstruation) * heavy or irregular bleeding * fatigue (The bolded symptoms are the ones I recognize.)
Emmadolly Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 Nice research, i didnt know i had it until i was trying for a baby for 2 years. Then i seen a consultant and lots and lots of tests. I also have polycystic ovarian disease. A question they always asked me was did i have dryness during sex. I never had that, and i was told that it is one of the tell tale signs of it.. After many years trying for a baby, we had treatment with hormones and my son was born. Then without trying we had our second child (Abbie, what a monster she is LOL). Elliott was 5 this week, and Abbie is 3 going on 33 LOL. I am so glad that you have not got it, as it is painful with or without your periods.
MarMar Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 I am not saying I don't have, but I am not saying I do either. I'm reading on other sites now, and they mention even more symptoms I do have.
Liz Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 What you have to remember Mar, is that those symptoms also apply to other much less serious problems and can also exist without there being a real problem. Don't get too worried.
MarMar Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 Nah, but I think it is better for me to think my stabbing chest pains are because of endometriosis than heart attacks..

Because the older you get, the more symptoms you get, and also it does run in families. Another one is your body hair gets thicker, and you have small white spots under your skin on the face,( not like zits at all, very small ones) You get tired for no reason, when you wake up you feel like you have not slept all night. You get cravings for salty food when your period is due. When you have bowel movement you feel a sharpe pain. Nah, but I think it is better for me to think my stabbing chest pains are because of endometriosis than heart attacks.. Dont go worrying your pretty head over this. As there is no need to worry as it cant kill you or anything like it .
Liz Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 Is menstrual irregularity very common during stressful times?
