katya Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 I don't really like being on the pill, but when we were using condoms I could never really relax and enjoy it. My parents are Catholic so the thought of their daughter having a child out of wedlock was akin to having a daughter who is a criminal. So I've always been a bit paranoid. Although now that I'm older they're not quite so staunch on the issue.
Mez83 Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 I'm not scared of it at all. But I will be having pain relief...
Emmadolly Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 Didn't know... Good reaso to use both. We have not really talked about the possibility of getting pregnant, as we use both, but I have made myself clear, and he says it's up to me, when it comes down to it. ok girls, how many of you are frightened of child birth, be honest. And what scares you the most???????????????????????? I am, a bit. The whole baby's-head-out-of-such-a-small-place-part. What are you waiting for, i now what you are waiting for, for you to come to terms that you want to be a mum. As he has put the ball in your court.
katya Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 My fear of childbirth is as follows I have a phobia about giving birth I think. I was never particularly fond of the idea but it never really bothered me until I watched a show called Desperate Midwives, and I watched a woman give birth. I didn't actually see anything but her reaction was enough to put the fear of God into me. I honestly think, if I get pregnant, I'll be a nervous wreck for the entire nine months. Just in case anyone missed it :-|
Emmadolly Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 In my opinion to many women worry about the birth. The Dr's and nurses see to that bit. Even though i had a really bad time on my first birth. I still wanted more kids. I did worry about the birth meaning a strange person looking at my bits, but you get passed that within 3 mins. I was more concerned if my child was going to be alright. All through the pregnancey i was worried in case there was anything wrong. I had done the hard work for 9 months, and i did not care who saw my bits, all i wanted was a healthly child at the end of it..I would never see the Dr again, but in my case i did as i worked in the same hospital.(bad luck)
katya Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 I heard somewhere that while you're giving birth your body releases some kind of chemical that allows you to "forget" the pain, so to speak, and means you're not afraid of going through it again, and therefore have more babies. But I don't know if that's true, I think my boyfriend told me. Hmmmm my boyfriend told me...maybe I should be worried.
Emmadolly Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 That is rubbish, the only thing you have that helps you forget the pain is (entonox) gas and air. LOL
katya Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 I heard the gas and air is awesome. My friend described it as better than being drunk or stoned, and coming from her that is certainly saying something.

It is funny at the start, but you soon start to realise it is there for pain relief, and for nothing less than that.
Mez83 Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 My friend wanted to take it home from the hospital when she had her first. She didn't even take asprin with her second.
