Skykat Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 I always hated getting taxis over on the Wirral which is the suburban area where I grew up so I never got them unless I had to but when I moved to Liverpool when I was sixteen I got them all the time. I don't know why but I feel much safer in big city centres at night than in the quiet country areas. I walk home from Liverpool city centre at night all the time but I'd never dream of walking from my local pub to my Mum's house after dark because I'd be terrified.
~Lynd~ Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 I never go outside in the dark by myself.I'd be to scared to.
Gypsy & Will Fan Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 My mum is well cool! My friends loved her! She used to listen to all their problems, and if a teacher was good looking, oh dear God! She used to come to parents evenings dressed up like she was going out to a club! She can be really embaressing though, big mistake if you say you fancy someone. I remember liking this boy when I was about 12 he had ginger hair, my mum rolled down the car window and shouted really loudly, "Oi Ginger my daughter fancies the pants off you!" Oh the Shame! But she is so great, we watch Home & Away together, she sings the theme tune! She fancies nearly half the male cast! But I love her very much! Without my mum, I wouldn't be the person I am!
Marieh Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 ^ I agree too. When you become their best friend and they moan on to you about the girls the like/are with and all you want to do is scream. And possibly jump on them. I hate that! :S.. The last time I ended up telling him it
Jess Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 I think my Mum thinks that she has failed miserably as a human being and/or parent if she doesn't 'get' me a boyfriend. She's constantly trying to play matchmaker (that would be good, if the guys were hot, but they most certainly aren't!) for me! Or if she can't find me a lad, she's trying to find me more girl mates.... It annoys the hell out of me, but I guess seh's my Mum and that's part of her job description so I can't really complain LOL. xXx
Gypsy & Will Fan Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Are the guys she picks really ugly? Its not just my mum then, she seems to think if she thinks they're hot, then I should too! Like she fancies Alf Stewart and can't for the life of her wonder why I dont! LOL! But saying that she does have good taste in men as well like Zac Drayson, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard! I can't complain too much about my mum's matchmaking skills, she's the one that went up to George and it's worked! AHHH!
Natalia Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 My mother is great. She gets asked for student ID on public transport, and a teenager tried to ask her out recently! She had me at 30 and I'm well and truly an adult now! I always hated getting taxis over on the Wirral which is the suburban area where I grew up so I never got them unless I had to but when I moved to Liverpool when I was sixteen I got them all the time. I don't know why but I feel much safer in big city centres at night than in the quiet country areas. I walk home from Liverpool city centre at night all the time but I'd never dream of walking from my local pub to my Mum's house after dark because I'd be terrified. I understand that. When I lived in London, I used to walk to a West End Tube station at midnight when I finished work, catch a train home on my own, and then walk from Notting Hil Gate station to my apartment. I never thought anything of it. Then some Australian friends (male) came to visit me, and insisted on walking me to the station at night to 'protect' me. Until then I honestly never thought I was in any danger. I wouldn't do that at home though. I'd be too scared!

Me to,i wouldn't be aywhere near the person i am without my mum, alway's telling me i'm capable and nobody is beeter then me.She dosn't match me up but like my dad will tease me to no end if i like somene and go'oh Lynda there's your boyfriend, lol ^ I agree too. When you become their best friend and they moan on to you about the girls the like/are with and all you want to do is scream. And possibly jump on them. I hate that! :S.. The last time I ended up telling him it I didnt tel him,i almost kissed him!I didn't think i liked him but must of to a degree for it to hapen i guess.I dropped something,he went to pick it up,so did i,and you know the rest .We didn't though we just turned around and that was that. The thing is though he was my good friend but my best friends Boyfriend. We kind of had a big fight after that and my best friend kind of got in the middle. We never told her but i think the fight was a guilt thing looking back.
Tulip Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 I can't belive mums try and get their daughters a boyfriend! My mum has never done that and I hope she doesn't.
Jess Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Yeah, pretty much the guys my Mum picks for me are ugly LOL. Not that I'm shallow and superficial, but they just seem to lack a bit in the personality department as well
