Gypsy & Will Fan Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Tabbycool, I know how you feel about the top of your legs, I get sores all the time there too! It hurts so much, but I haven't had a period for two months so, not painful at all at the moment, thank God!
Jess Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 When I was in Year 9, so I was probably about 13/14 ish, we had a 'Talk' at school. My school's really strict about what they can tell us, show us etc 'cos they're Catholic so it was a pretty pointless exercise! But anyway, some how the woman giving the talk managed to show us some condoms, I don't know how since the nuns at the school disapprove of artificial contraception because it's 'intrinsically evil' or something, but anyway, we were passing them round and stuff when our male Geography teacher walked in! It was hilarious! He really was oblivious to what was going on (I don't really think he's ever been the sharpest tool in the box!) and he goes, 'Can I come and join in this discussion then?' And the woman was like, 'Well, err, no Richard, but I'd be perfectly happy to discuss with you what I'm discussing wih the girls at a later point'. He just went bright red and walked out. In every Geography lesson from then on, we wound him up like hell. I feel kinda sorry for him being the only male in an all girls school - he can't even fancy any of the teachers, considering most of them are nuns LOL. But we've never let him live the whole incident down! It'll haunt him forever! LOL XxX
Liz Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 My first high school was Catholic. I remember being in year 7 (aged 11) and a priest came in to school to teach us sex education. He had put laminated paper around the room with 'sexual words', such as 'vagina', 'penis', etc. At the time, I didn't know what masturbation (one of the words on the wall) meant and I asked him, but he wouldn't tell me. I was quite interested, so I kept asking until he finally reluctantly told me. I've never seen a priest so uncomfortable and embarrassed!
Jess Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 LOL! Sorry, I just have visions of our Priest trying to explain that to us, he could barely teach us competently in R.S. last year....let alone explain something like that! He's really shy and I think he felt really imtimidated by a whole classroom of girls... XxX
~Lynd~ Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 In year 6 our really old teacher tried to talk about itmhowever she'd probably never had sex in her life and nobody listened to her..what a bludge that was!
Liz Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 "Well... um... it refers to... one finding sexual... satisfaction with what God has provided one with". I didn't have an effing clue what he was talking about to be quite honest.
Jess Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Lol, that does sound like a very 'Priest-like' explanation
MarMar Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 I can't remember talking about it with my mother, I know I did at some point, I just can't remember. I remember being shown a video of how babies are made though, it wasn't pornographic, just showed a naked couple, who looked a bit sheepish, then it was all scientific stuff of what happens inside the body when you have sex, how the baby develops, then at the end it showed childbirth! I must have been about 7 at the time! lol At school we had this Playdo video about sex and masturbating (sp?) it was hilarious to watch.. Hmm I wonder how the boy video was (it was one video for the girls, and one for the boys) We watched the same video! iik!
Marieh Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 They showed you a video about masturbation?!? Weird! I don't remember being shown any videos about sex at school. We had a talk when we were 11 with these women who gave us free sanitary towels and booklets about puberty. Then we had a similar thing in secondary school a year later! Yepp I remember in year 5 or 6 (I was 10-11) We had a male teatcher and he skipped the chapter about periods and that 'babies comes from when 2 people love each other" - And it was a picture og a man lying on top of a woman I didn't know about that chapter before I helpt my cousin with his homework.. Merc: Did the boy toss a shoe on the thingy that turns the light on/off?
