SKYKAT,

I am aware of that part, but that's not what I was trying to get across, I'm actually eternally grateful for my dad's heart surgeon as he saved his life 3 times in less than 6 months! I do understand that some negligence does play part, I'm not arguing against it, but can homopathy cure a diseased heart and one that would've killed my Dad 3 times over if he didn't get operated on by one of the best heart surgeons in Victoria or possibly Australia??

Anyway, I'm ranting.

^ wow! I'd rather a tablet over a needle anyday! In fact, when I went for an operation to remove a tumor way back, I insisted that I have those thingys that numb the area first when I got the anesthetic! I cringed when I saw my Dad hooked up all over with needles, I was shaking all over! :)

Maybe I'm weird!

Hypocondriacism (sp?) is a mental illness. Is she getting any help for it..?

Penny, the BCG was not bad at all! I went to school with girls like that as well! :P

ETA: I am reading my notes from this semester's literature course, so my prelies might be very late. :P

Nah, she's just a drama queen! Although she has seen a councellor, but was referred to a psychologist! But she figured that she got enough attention from it so she wouldn't go there! ;)

That's fair enough. I know Doctors have done a lot of good and saved a lot of lives I just find that on a personal level I've only really had bad experiences with them yet my experiences of alternative medicine have been all good. Obviously your experiences differ to mine hence the differing opionion. I'm glad the Doctors got it right for your Dad but they got it wrong with my baby cousin and she died because of their negligence so I struggle to trust Doctors now.

I was laughing so much when the head bully fainted, she was saying all this stuff saying how she isn't scared, and how she bets I will cry like a baby, and we were sitting next to each other and we both got up at the same time and she fainted. I was in stitches I nearly needed my sides sown up!

There's a reason why I don't like tablets, its all mental with me, I see one and it brings my past back.

My mum has to take her tablets in another room, so I dont see her take them.

Is hypochondria really a recognised mental illness? you learn something new every day. I thought it was just attention seeking. A girl in school was a major hypochondriac and it drove me crazy!

Doctors and nurses make mistakes because they are human. This does not mean that they don't do their best. The problem is that there is too little money in health care, eg. they spread the doctors and nurses too thin to cover all the patients --> little time to do their job --> they stress --> mistakes are made.

Sorry to hear about that. My Dad refused to see a doctor for many years, and while having the heart attack that nearly (and probably should have) killed him, he refused to go to the hospital, having a smoke on the way!!!! He has since given up, and he has a lot of rehab left to do, but is doing very well, and if we had won tattslotto, we would be giving a share to this particular doctor, as we are so grateful he is alive!

But I do understand your viewpoint, after all, we all are different, with differing morals and viewpoints! You wouldn't be normal if you constantly agreed with everyone! :)
