katya Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 So it's like a tampon but reusable? Hmmm, I'm not entirely convinced, but I can see the environmental advantages. Although it'd be pretty horrible cleaning it :-l
MarMar Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I am not all that worried about goo. I've had montly periods for 10 years... That's 1200 periods x 5 days = 6000 days of blood, goo and pain.
katya Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 My periods have been fabulous since I started taking the pill. I used to get really awful cramp but I barely even get a twinge anymore. It's so liberating.
MarMar Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Mine was really horrbile for years, although they have been better since I started on the pill at 15 because it eased the flow. I developed migraine around the same time as I started my periods. I still have cramps and I sometimes get diarrhea before my period. I get pain down my thighs, the same kind of pain you get in your legs when you have the flu. I've been thinking about going to the doctor to see if I might have endometriosis, as my sister does, and I have all the symptoms.
Emmadolly Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 It's a "cup" which you place inside the vagina to collect all the mentrual blood, instead of tampons/pads. http://www.divacup.com/ I have never ever ever ever heard about this, are you having a laugh or what LOL.
MarMar Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I hadn't either until a short time ago. I knew people use sponges, but...
katya Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Hee hee, if it's a joke then I'm such a sucker. Merc, I used to get the pains in my thighs as well, and my boobs would always be so so sore just before it started. I'll never forget my boyfriend grabbing them when they were like that and I almost punched him because it was so painful. He learned his lesson :-)
MarMar Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I understand why you almost punched him. That hurts! No, it's not a joke. I know people who use them and there are several Live Journal-communities about it, believe it or not.
Emmadolly Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I hadn't either until a short time ago. I knew people use sponges, but... I just read about it..... Well i am shocked at this device, i could place loads of things inside me, but this thing. I dont even want to go there. It seems so yukky and messy, it must have been a man who invented it LOL.
