Gypsy & Will Fan Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 I had to wait 6 months for crutches! And six months for hand rails up the stairs and by the bath! Bloody Labour!
Jess Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 I was due to go into hospital for orthoapaedic surgery and we were told a couple of days before that we'd need to contact our local authority for a wheelchair for after as I wouldn't be able to walk, and we 'phone and they said there was a 2 year waiting list - I was due in hospital in less than a week - fat lot of good that would've been!
Gypsy & Will Fan Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Bloody idiots, how are we meant to get around with out the equipment we need, while they go off and have sex and play bloody croquet! It makes me sick!
Jess Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 That was hilarious! I laughed so much when I saw that picture of TwoJags playing croquet! And then he moves out of Dorneywood, after saying a few days previously that if he moved out his 'wife would leave him'. Hahaha! The joys of British politics!
Gypsy & Will Fan Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 There a bunch on twats running our government if the Tories get in something might get done as David Cameron has a severely disabled son! Maybe we might get something done, to help us!
Jess Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Ohhh....I didn't know that about David Cameron....do you know what's wrong with him? The best was when I was told I'm no longer disabled because I 'don't wear special shoes'. I sense a lack of common sense somewhere.
~Lynd~ Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 I guess, but there's no guarantee that they'd actually receive it when they need it....I was told that I'd have to wait 2 years for a wheelchair on the NHS....LOL I agree.I don't know if tv potrays it realistically but it amazes me that in America you could be dying but unless you have insurance they won't do anything.WTF?? I know, do you reckon they'd actually let someone die 'cos of a lack of insurance? If tv portrays it correctly i reckon they would. It's insane.Last time i was in hospital i wasn't asked for my medicare details till i was almost discharged. I was due to go into hospital for orthoapaedic surgery and we were told a couple of days before that we'd need to contact our local authority for a wheelchair for after as I wouldn't be able to walk, and we 'phone and they said there was a 2 year waiting list - I was due in hospital in less than a week - fat lot of good that would've been! You can borrow my old one next time i just got a new one, lol. Bloody idiots, how are we meant to get around with out the equipment we need, while they go off and have sex and play bloody croquet! It makes me sick! ROTFL Penny! It took 8 weeks for my chair to come, and they wouldn't let me out of hospital till it did,Not that it made much difference anyway.I have no idea why it takes so long to get a wheelchair but oh well.
Jess Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Is it electric or manual? I've always wanted an electric one but apparently I don't 'fit the criteria'.
Gypsy & Will Fan Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 He has serious cerabal palsy and down syndrome I think! Labour makes my blood boil! I go to the specialist once a year and I'm only in there for five bloody minutes, how am I meant to do anything in that time! I haven't even got my coat off and there telling me either I've improved or I haven't! I feel like shouting, do you mind if I take my coat off, you dicks!
Jess Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Go Penny, go Penny! Wahey! I'm not the only one who feels like that! I think it's good that someone like David Cameron has got a disabled son, 'cos half the politicians have no experience of the affects that their policies have on the average person. I don't mean it in a negative way, just that it's good because it gives them more insight, if that makes sense.
