katya Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 I'm watching Mindshock; Feral Children on four (since I don't have my bloody freeview box and can't watch Big Brother's Big Mouth), and it's really quite freaky, but highly interesting.
Guevara01 Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 I'm watching that too. It is intriguing. xxx
Frankie Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 I saw some of the Feral children programme last year ..it was fascinating..
Jackieleanne Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 I've just turned that on as well like you said freaky but interesting.
Guevara01 Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 I read about the civilising of Genie, which isn't really the same thing as she wasn't with animals, but it's the language and linguistic side of it that fascinates me. How can they learn language at such a late stage if they've never heard it before? If they can't, does that mean that there is a certain time frame in which we can acquire language? I realise that's probably not interesting to anyone who isn't me lol. xxx

Mez might know...I think she studies lnaguage and linguistics development.
