Oh a holiday! Nice! Where are you off to?

The Algarve! I'm so excited. Last years holiday was pretty awful so I have my fingers crossed for this one.

You will have a great time there. I went there at the begining of the year, are you in a hotel?.

We were in the resort Albuferia ( can't remember how to spell it). I'm sure you will have a fab time. I am unsure if your self catering or in a hotel. Because if you are self catering, i can give you some tips.

You're so lucky!! I'd be beyond excited if I was you too!

I need a holiday! Joe and I are saving for a trip to Oz to go to Oz and visit his brother (and hopefully his father doesn't fine out we're there) Hopefully we can get his neice and nephew out of school a week early and take them to all the amusement parks while we're there!

We're going to Albufeira as well, and we're self-catering. Tips would be very much appreciated!

I'd love to go to Oz Mez. When do you plan on going?

The food that you would assume to be cheap, is very expensive out there. I took some supplies with us ,coffee and tea, sugar. And a tins of tuna, corn beef. Even though it is really cheap to eat out, you will at some point want to eat in the villa. So taking things like cereal with you, will not eat in to your budget. A small tin of tuna will cost you £ 3.50, at home it would be 90 pence. If you plan on going to zoo marine, or any other day trip, buy your tickets from reception, where you are staying. As this saves 50% of the charge, do NOT get any tickets from the reps as they double the charge.

You will also be wanting to phone home, so i suggest you buy a phone card out there, they cost £5, and it gives you two hours talk time from public phones. As the pulic phones are terrible, you have to place 2 euros just to be connected. And then you spend another 5 euros to talk for 1 minute. I found out about the cards half way through my holiday. All the receptions in hotels and villas, have a standard charge of 3 euros per min, and a charge of 2 euros to connect. so Get a card.
