Frankie Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I'm getting my period next week. Oh, how I loook forward to the cramps since I will be the only one at work daytime + work till 2am that night. Thank god I have the cup, so that I won't have the hassle of changing pad/tampon every 4 hours. I am curious about the cup mar..is it comfortable, easy to use , messy or not etc...? Try a lavender rub for the cramps.
MarMar Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 When would I have time for a lavender rub?! Working 40 hours a week, and have uni when I don't! The cup is like a tampon when used correctly: you don't feel a thing. It's not messy at all, and in contrast to a tampon it doesn't dry out your vagina, or let the blood start rotting while still inside you.
xGlowingAngelx Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I'm really fed up. Usually when I'm on my periods, I only suffer for a couple of hours, and those few cramps are usually my only worry. But I started early this morning and since then the cramps haven't shifted, and I'm really depressed. Is it normal to have these effects if I've never had them beofre, baring in mind my periods started about 4 years ago and I've never had one that's made me have bad mood swings until today? I'm sorry if this sounds totaly dumb, but I'm just very down at the moment so I'm coming out with all kinds of babble.
MarMar Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Have you tried using a hot water bottle? Taken a warm bath? Pain killers?
xGlowingAngelx Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Yeh, I took painkillers when I got up and then took some about an hour ago aswell. They don't seem to be helping. I could try the hot water bottle. If I can find one....
MarMar Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Which kind of pain killers did you take? How many mg? Normally ibuprofen (Ibux, for Norwegians) and paracetamol(Paracet) doesn't work for me, but I take a brand called Naproxen does... sometimes at least.
xGlowingAngelx Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I took paracetamol. 2, both of them 500 whetever-they-are. They're what I usually take. Only this time they're refusing to do their job! lazy things!
DreamerCio Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I take Marvlon (pill) for my periodsbut my breast is now hurting. And for the pain when i have them i usually take ibprofeen(or how ever you spell it) also a hot water bottle or rice bag helps with the pain .
Emmadolly Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Sorry to hear that you girlies are suffering with the curse, i used to get the cramps bad. There is some consolation in getting older, they wear off in time. God the men get away with murder,, don’t they.
MarMar Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 *Grrr* I've been trying to read for a couple of hour. I've managed to get through the rest of chapter 1 in one of the books, and have started chapter 2. This was for last week's lecture. I have no idea on how to get through everything till Wednesday! I can't concentrate for ****. And while I read, I get all restless. I have to pee. I make myself another cup of tea. I go to check on Arya. I surf the web. And then, best of all, I realise that I haven't washed any clothes lately (besides a wash of underwear and socks two weeks ago. Last week I had to buy more plain black shirts for work, because none that I had was clean), so I frantically search through the bedroom, the living room, the bathroom and the laundry room to find two dirty t-shirts. Two, not four, which are the number of plain black shirts I have. This, of course, leaves me in tears. High to low in less than ten minutes. This has to be an all-time record. Even for me.
