MarMar Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 They hurt if inserted incorrectly, but that's no problem after a bit of practice.
~Amy~ Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Yeah the first time is horrible and kinda makes you think twice about using 'em but I'm glad I stuck with 'em. Do use pads or tampons Mercury_Girl?
~Amy~ Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Do you find it better than the others?
MarMar Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Indeed! Now I hardly notice my period (except cramps), it's not dangerous and I don't have to change it every 4 hours - I can go 12 to 24 hours without emptying it.
~Amy~ Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 12 - 24 hours sounds very good. But is thee still the risk of TSS? Off Topic but I your av.
MarMar Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 No, because it's made of medical grade silicone Thanks! http://www.divacup.com/
*belle* Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 I really like the sound of the cup, much better than tampons! But can I be really, really stupid and ask....well how do you get it in there?
MarMar Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 It's made from soft/flexible silicone, so you fold it - there are different ways. and put it in like "normal" (like with tampons). Once inside, it "pops" open, thus creating vacuum, so that there will be no leaking. Read more at community.livejournal.com/menstrual_cups
Pierced Musie Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 I use pads. I used to have to wear two thick (night) pads because my periods were heavy. Now I can just wear two normal pads or one night pad. Hopefully my periods will get even lighter, when they finally do regulate. When that happens I may try out tampons or the divacup. I want to make a joke about being scared about sticking something up there but I won't because some of you guys are too young
