Yeah the first time is horrible and kinda makes you think twice about using 'em but I'm glad I stuck with 'em. Do use pads or tampons Mercury_Girl?

Indeed!

Now I hardly notice my period (except cramps), it's not dangerous and I don't have to change it every 4 hours - I can go 12 to 24 hours without emptying it.

I really like the sound of the cup, much better than tampons! But can I be really, really stupid and ask....well how do you get it in there? :unsure:

It's made from soft/flexible silicone, so you fold it - there are different ways. and put it in like "normal" (like with tampons). Once inside, it "pops" open, thus creating vacuum, so that there will be no leaking.

I use pads. I used to have to wear two thick (night) pads because my periods were heavy. Now I can just wear two normal pads or one night pad.

Hopefully my periods will get even lighter, when they finally do regulate. When that happens I may try out tampons or the divacup.

I want to make a joke about being scared about sticking something up there but I won't because some of you guys are too young :blush:
