Mmmm. An english girl I know moved to Oz from UK< and saw a sign reading "no thongs" as in 'flip flops, is what I think they call it there. She immediately though"t "What, they're going to check are they?" as the UK word is something like G-string or something, isn't it?? Something along those lines...

In Australia Thongs are something you wear on your feet which i think the UK call flip flops.What they call thongs we call G- strings in Australia.

Thongs are evil! I'm sure we have G-strings and thongs here, I think g-strings are thinner little stringy things, whereas thongs still stick up your butt, but are a little less stringy! Either way, I can't see why anyone would wear them, it's bad enough having a wedgie, without wearing pants that are actually designed to be a permanent wedgie!

I love G Strings! Although the thin ones are generally called V-strings, as they are more of a v anyway.

I wear them all the time, mainly v strings though, they are very comfortable, and no constant picking of wedgies!

I only wear underpants when I can't be stuffed.

I think it depends where you live. My mother still calls them g-strings, but lots of people call them thongs. My mother was wearing those things back in the 80s, she must be right!

Whatever you call them though, they are just plain wrong! My fiance hates them too, he says they aren't very flattering, which is good!

I hate thongs. How in hell are they supposed to be sexy? I much prefer the cute little pants that are almost like shorts. They're so sweet.
