MarMar Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 I don't know if I will ever leave my birth city - it's growing, changing and expanding so much. It's also charming, in its own ways
Eli Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 I think I will leave Elverum eventually, but I think I'll come back. I really want to live in Scotland or Canada or some other country (my list is long) for some time, but I will come back to Elverum. It might be boring here, but it's just something about the city (and it looks really pretty from the bridge at night!)... I've never been to Stavanger. I think I've been to all the bigger cities in Norway except for Tromsø and Stavanger. Most Norwegians haven't been to Elverum. It's like a city you drive through and forget when you're on your way to Hamar But there are a lot of nice things here (except that we have the highest and worst drug-statistics in the country :S ) like one of the best freshwater beaches in the Eastern parts of the country, and there's a lot of things going on here during summer.
MarMar Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 I might have to go there one day - do you have forests and stuff?
Eli Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 Yeah, Elverum is pretty much forests with a small city center and a river in the middle The national museum of forestry is here (Norsk Skogmuseum, tidl. Norsk Skogbruksmuseum) and that's worth a visit. I have always wanted to go to Stavanger, don't ask why... I have just always wanted to visit Stavanger and Arendal (Ah! Another city I haven't been to). Maybe because of the dialect? My best friend loves your R's
MarMar Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 I hate our dialect! Then I'll come to Elverum - we don't have... trees and stuff here Not in large numbers anyway.
Eli Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 Elverum is really just one big forest in my opinion. Especially where I live. I live on the top of a hill, surrounded by trees... I have moose in my garden and deers all around It's like that here, villages with forests all over the place, and a downtown in the middle But everything is pretty close, I live in a village (but I live as far north in the village you get before you're in the actual city) but I only have a 7 minutes bus ride to my school which is in the heart of downtown. Yeah, if you like trees this is your city
Pierced Musie Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Morning. I was planning to be online last night but there was a change in plans. Sister went to boyfriends so I watched L Word.
