Marieh Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Dirty Dancing, I love that movie .. Bridget Jones 2 was not as good as the first one I'm afraid.
Jess Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 I've yet to see Dirty Dancing - I feel like I've missed out on a real "rite of passage" movie, here. I must watch it! I kinda agree with you, Marie, about #2. For a start, sequels are rarely as good as the originals. 'cos too many comparisons are made. It's also harder to come up with originality, while at the same time keeping the identity of the two films. It was also a tad predictable - the big fight scene between the guys, and stuff, but, IMO, it was kinda charming at the same time. However, there are some geniunally funny scenes in #2. A prime example of this is when she goes skiing and ends up in the chemist. "Me...fraulein...baby" That scene cracks me up every time! Lol, talking about films has reminded me that I need to write a film review for General Studies...hmm, I think I'll watch Mr. and Mrs. Smith later.
Pierced Musie Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 ... But you have seen a Patrick Swayze 80's movie, right?! RIGHT?!?! Dirty Dancing, Roadhouse or Ghost are must see movies!
Pete's girl Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 ... But you have seen a Patrick Swayze 80's movie, right?! RIGHT?!?! Dirty Dancing, Roadhouse or Ghost are must see movies! Ghost - everytime I see that I cry! :crying: I haven't seen Roadhouse - is that the one where he dresses up as woman or is that something else?
Pierced Musie Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 He dresses up as a woman in Too Wong Foo... which is a classic film! In Roadhouse he is a bouncer who is asked to clean up a rundown bar but comes across a problem in the form of an evil rich man. It is action but it will blow you away. Plus the older guy, who plays the mentor, in the film is sexy as well . It's 80's and I guess it is a B movie but it is a hell of alot better than recent films.
Jess Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 I've never seen Ghost all the way through, just bits of it when it's been on the television. *hides in shame*
MarMar Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Nothing happens in this thread anymore, so I'm try to force it back to life by writing this... 1. The ball on my lip piercing is screwed on so tight there is no way I can get it off by myself. The labret is the same as the one from when it was first pierced almost 6 weeks ago, and since the swelling was gone long ago and the problems I've had with it has cleared up, the labret is too long, and you can see a bit of it - it's sort of sticking out. Have to force my sorry ass off to the piercer when I have money to have it replaced with a shorter one. Anyone wanna donate? 2. Hair dye arrived in the mail. Yay! 3. "Blood Magic - The anthropology of menstruation" also came today. I'm building quite the bloody library here! 4. Waiting for T to get home from work so that I can give him a big kiss. *grumble* App. 5-6 hours left. 5. I upped my dosage of 5-HTP from 50mg to 100mg. I'm already noticing how it affects the carbohydrate-cravings. Hoping for a weight loss, here.
Pierced Musie Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Try using a tissue to unscrew the ball. Works everytime on my tongue ball . I need to buy two studs for my lip piercings but I don't have the money in my debit account. If I didn't have a bloody cold (third of the year!) then I could go out and put the money in my account. It can wait until next week now .
MarMar Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Fankoo! Although I don't really have anything to out in - I might have a BCR somewhere, but I never get the ball in
Mez83 Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 Ok, so Joe and I went on holiday for the weekend. On Monday we went for a walk along the wharf at Wellington Harbour. He proposed. I said yes. So now I have a pretty ring on my finger
