MarMar Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 I will certainly do my best. I just have to avoid stressful situations. That's what brought a sudden end to the last attempt on Wednesday
MarMar Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 Anyone around here for a chat? Haven't been all that active here lately. Too messed up and too much stuff going on.
allibaz91 Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 Come to think of it, this thread has been a bit dead for a while I'm around
MarMar Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 It's a bit quirky to go to the store to recycle* soda bottles so that we can afford shampoo and conditioner. Grocery stores don't accept Mastercard. My VISA-debit has NOK37 left (US$6). Another thing. I'm almost done with the second/new knitted bag. I won't be felting this time, but sew a lining and have it as a bag big enough for the iBook, unlike the one I felted earlier this week. I've only got the straps etc remaining, and so, I need something else to keep my fingers busy. Now, I know I used to make jewelery and stuff when I was younger, from glass beads from the local crafty-store and plain old safety needled on a piece of elastics. Yeah, I know, I know, really basic, but I was... 10 or something. Anyway, I know we still have the beads lying around somewhere. Questions is just, where? I've been going through heaps of junk and started sneezing over all the dust and I cannot find it. Sucks! Not only don't I have money for lining for the new bag, and now I don't have money for new beads, nor can I find the old ones. Oh, by the way, I was planning to sew them onto the felted bag's flap as a nice little details. I haven't decided on a pattern, though, but whaddayasay? Flowers or skulls? *Whenever you buy a soda bottle you pay NOK1.50/US$0.2 (for 0.5l bottles) or NOK2.50/US$0.4 (for 1.5l bottles) extra but get them back when you return the bottle to a store for recycling. More info on this here.
~Lynd~ Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 You can do that here to. be diifferent and do Skulls.
MarMar Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Different or just really stereotypical-gothy? Anyone know how many countries have that recycling-thing? Does the US have it?
~Lynd~ Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Good point but flowers are a bit boring,IMO.Fragipani's could be nice though. Not sure if the US has it but i think i've heard about it there.
Jess Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 I know the UK don't have it. It is a pretty good idea, though. Go for skulls, Merc. But not the stereotypical goth ones. If there is such a thing.
MarMar Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Contemplating doing something with a piece of wire I found lying around... Hmmm...
allibaz91 Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 That would be really different and interesting, at any rate! I've never heard of that recycling here either, Jess
