My life has turned around a bit due to... well, I have something called Asperger's Syndrome. It doesn't change anything, realistically (as I am too old to have help in school, etc), but there's been a lot of thinking and considering and my life can now be seen in a new light. It's something that has changed me, but also made me stronger. At least now I know why I am the way I am.

Wow, that must have been quite a revelation. It must explain a lot knowing that you have it? I think it's a really positive thing if you can actually pinpoint why you are the way you are - I wish I could!

Definitely. It's been a huge relief to have a name and something specific to work with. I've had depressive episodes in the past, anxiety, bipolar-like cycles, etc, etc. Of course all of that can be co-morbid with AS, but it hasn't been the only thing "working against me" as I've thought earlier.

But, at the same time, it's kinda scary because although I'm still me, something has changed. I'm more aware of my quirks and oddness and I'm kinda analyzing everything I do - is this autistic? Is this? Am I acting odd again now? That will pass, though. I hope.

Well it's my birthday tomorrow which is nice, although to be honest I'm not excited like I usually would be. The past 18 months have been quite tough for me health-wise and it's kind of hard to look forward to the festivities when you're not feeling so great. I'm also working on Christmas Day...but I am still looking forward to it, honest!

Oh! I didn't know! If I'm not online tomorrow, happy birthday!

I hope the new year will be better for you, especially with your health :)
