bay girl Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 I just thought i'd ask if anyone has tried both the pill and oral antibiotics for acne?? OR Roacutane I have, but I didn't really have a successful outcome from either. The antibiotics helped while I was on them but once I stopped taking them my acne came back worse.I was also on Estelle( it's an acne/ pcos pill) for almost a year but It made me vomit really bad sometimes so I have been advised by my GP not to go back on it.I never used to have it bad on my face, but my back was covered with it.Now it get it mildly on my back, sometimes on my chest, and it's worse on my face.My doctor has suggested that I go on Roacutane, but am somewhat worried about the main side effect(Suicidal tendencies) because I am mildly autistic, and have had issues in the past with this. Any suggestions?? Its been a while since you posted this, but anyhoo. Im actually on a contraceptive pill called Diane (which i believe is pretty much the same as estelle). Ive been on and off it since i was 18 (so 6 years now), and my skin is pretty much perfect. But i find if i go off it for a few months, my skin breaks out, and have to get straight back on it. If you're worried about the possible depression and ect that can come from these, there is actually another pill called Loette, which has a lower dose of hormones (the hormones, i think is what can cause the depression and ect) in it. The only thing is; where do you live? If you're not in australia, they might not have the same products that we have here in aus. But maybe you could ask a doctor about Loette and see what they say.

I have been back to the Doctor and had a chat to her about roaccutane, and she has told me that the suicidal tendencies are very rare along with the possibility of raised blood pressure. So I have decided to try a course of Roaccutane and have had the blood tests and am just waiting until December for a dermatologist appointment. Thanks though Bay Girl
Symphony Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 It's annoying - i met a really nice guy on Saturday night when I was out. He's taller than me- and has a steady job [teacher!] and was a good dancer - and really nice / easy to talk to, and just lovely. Yet, I wasn't hugely into him! Yeah we exchanged numbers, and he got in contact yesterday [text ,I texted back, haven't heard anything back yet] - if he asks me on a date, I'll probably go ; he knows I'm not going to be living here for much longer but ... like ... GRR! Why couldn't I just really fancy him instead of the usual treat-you-like-dirt guys that I normally fall for.
HAA Girl 08 Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Does anyone else feel the same way I do when you're about to go out somewhere special and you need to make a good impression (or you just want to look your best) and bloody Mr. Pimple makes himself at home on the tip of your nose? I was going for a family photo last weekend and Mr. popped up on my nose out of nowhere... Now, whenever I look at the photos, he's staring right at me!! Arghhhh!

jenlee Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 So I am two weeks late for my period. Now this would be a good thing if I in any way thought I might be pregnant but I doubt it. This happened last month to, I ended up being seven weeks late due to the invisible stress I was not feeling. Of course it's possible I may be pregnant (will do the test tomorrow morning if still no period) but I doubt it as no trying was being done during my ovulation dates due to other complications I had after my period. So not only does it suck that I kinda get my hopes up about being pregnant, but, (correct me if I'm wrong as I don't really know as much about this as I should) it also make me ovulate once every six to eight weeks instead of once every twenty eight days which kinda lessens our chances of getting pregnant right?
KaitieL Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 ^^ Yeah that sounds about right. Have you tried ways to de-stress? Thinking about it so much just ends up stressing you out even more. It seems to happen when you not trying or thinking about it. Don't worry. It'll happen.

But thanks for the advice
defying_gravity Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 ^^ yeah i had a scare 2 years ago (i was 16) i ended up being 2 and a half weeks late because i stressed so much about it (as in i ended up covered in stress rash) and as soon as i stopped stressing i got my period and it was the biggest relief ever.
