Liz Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Apparently if men want to imagine what it would feel like to give birth, they just need to imagine passing a bowling ball!! From where exactly?!
Emma_B Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 ^ I'm not sure if I want to know! The mind reels...
Annette Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Passing as in "passing a motion" as in via the rectum.
Liz Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 As I thought... I don't really understand how those two sensations could be anything alike.
TabbyCool Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 When my cousin was about to go into labour she said she felt like she needed to poo, but nothing would come out. That's when the nurse told her it was because she was fully dilated and ready to go into labour, so it must feel sort of similar. Although a bowling ball is a lot rounder, harder, wider and in most cases, heavier than a baby, and your anus doesn't naturally stretch as much, so would tear more. Anyone feeling squeamish yet?
TabbyCool Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Nah, not really. I thought some of the boys might be put off if we talk about nasty squeamish stuff!
TabbyCool Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Yep, they are. My fiance gets all squeamish when people talk about varicose vein operations! My grandad had his varicose veins removed from his legs... the doctor drew a line up the front of his leg with arrows and stuff where they were going to cut into him. The lines were there for a few hours before the operation, so we were all looking at his leg and imagining what they were going to do! They cut a slit in the bottom and cut the vein and seal the end or whatever, then they cut a slit at the top, pull the vein out and then cut it off! I told my fiance about it and he kept telling me to shut up because it was too horrible!
