claire_louise Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 I just REALLY hope that Rhys Wakefield DOES NOT win best new male talent. I can't believe he even got nominated for it! Go Kate and Ada! Although, if Rhys does win, it might make the writers give him a decent storyline at last. I think there's potential there and he's definitely a likeable character, but he needs more to do than just being Matilda's puppy dog.
loveangelmusicbaby Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 If the character of Lucas continues to get storylines revolving around Maddie, then he could be axed from the cast. Isn't that what happened with Henry? Anyway, my sis did one round of voting and she voted for Rhys as she loves him! I like Bec, she is a talented actress. I was watching the episodes based around Noah's death online last night and I was amazed how well she could act. I have seen the episodes before but she does have talent. Pity she left. Remember the voting is for episodes/storylines last year! Anyway, I will be voting for Kate for Gold. Actually as long as Bert or Bridie don't get it I am happy. I like Kate, Ada, Bec, John, Rove and Natalie...I wonder if I can vote for all of them?
claire_louise Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 I'm not saying that Bec doesn't have any talent, but seeing Ella as Hayley unfortunately makes her pale in comparison. When I saw Ella's Hayley crying over Irene a few nights back, I realised that I couldn't remember ever seeing Bec cry as Hayley. I don't just mean a few tears, but proper crying. When Noah died she did the sort of numb grief thing, which was brilliant, but now I wonder if they wrote it like that because Bec couldn't handle anything more dramatic. Then again, maybe I'm just a cynic! I don't think Bec deserves an award anyway. Even if she was the best actress on the show, she left months ago and shouldn't be nominated. As for Rhys, I don't think he'll turn into another Henry as he is already too popular for that (which is probably down to his looks, I must admit). But they need to give him something decent to do or he'll just fade into the background.

Then again, maybe I'm just a cynic! You are not a cynic. We have the storyline where Hayley is hysteric over her looks after the car-crash, and she is not good with the emotional scenes, and her vryins is so fake, and very non-crying.
Alison C Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 Is there a website we can vote on? The UK soap awards always have a website. Being in Ireland I would vote for Kate if I could
