Chapter one hundred and sixty four – Joey’s question.

The doors of the emergency room opened and Flynn and Beth pushed the trolley with Tiegan’s lifeless body on it. “This is Tiegan Brooks, she’s 19, she has a stab wound to her lower abdomen, she’s losing a lot of blood,” Beth said as she looked at the daughter, the only one that could speak English. “Room 3,” the doctor said as they wheeled her in, “We only have 2 doctors, I don’t suppose you two could help, could you?” They didn’t answer they just started to treat her.

Joey and the others were getting driven to the hospital by the tour guide in the coach, Joey was pacing up and down and aisle. “Joey sit down love,” Irene said as she looked at him. “Why don’t you shut the **** up!” Joey shouted at Irene as he carried on pacing up and down. “Joey, I know your hurting, but don’t talk to your mother like that,” Barry said gently. “Who asked you? Your not even family, just because you’ve been screwing our mum, doesn’t make you our father, so shut up!” Joey shouted as he banged his head against his window. “Tiegan wouldn’t want you to be like this,” Gypsy said gently as she held Lily tightly in her arms. “Why don’t you shut up, its half your fault she got stabbed why couldn’t you just leave Amanda alone, why couldn’t you just leave Tiegan out of it,” Joey said as he rocked backwards and forwards in tears.

They entered the hospital and Joey ran towards the desk. “Do you know where Tiegan Brooks is?” Joey asked as he gasped for breath through all the running he has been doing. The woman shrugged her shoulders she didn’t understand English. “For ****s sake, can someone ****ing tell me where Tiegan is?” Joey asked as he shouted and spun around in a circle holding his head. “She’s in here,” Flynn said as he walked out with his theatre gown on. “Flynn, how is she?” Joey asked as tears strung into his eyes. “We managed to stabilize her,” Flynn said as he led Joey to a set of chairs, “but we found something while we stopped the bleeding, it seems Tiegan’s pregnant.” “Excuse me?” Joey said in shock, “this just gets better and better, first of all Amanda nearly kills the love of my life she nearly kills my baby as well.” “Would you like to see her?” Flynn asked as he looked at Joey. Joey didn’t answer he was in her room already.

Joey walked in followed by the others he stood by her hand and grabbed her hand and looked at her on the life support machine and burst into tears. “Come on my little angel, you have to wake up, come on, who else is going to shout at me when I leave my pants all over your bedroom floor. The first time we met I felt a connection it was so real, I loved everything about you especially your cute button nose. And whose going to ward the adoring female public off me by putting rotten prawns in their locker,” Joey said as the tears flowed freely from his face.

Joey stands up still holding Tiegan’s hand and looking at her face with all the tubes from it. “Come Tiegan wake up, so you can embarrass me, come one,” Joey said as he patted her arm. “I can’t believe your making me do this in front of everybody, your ruining my image,” Joey said as he kissed her on the forehead. “Make it worth it, come on babe, make it worth it,” Joey said as stared at her face so lovingly. The scene pans out across everyone Irene and Barry hugging, Will and Gypsy, Vinnie and Leah, Nick and Jade, Sally and Flynn, all crying and all feeling Joey’s pain. “Wake up! Come on! It’s usually you that does all the talking, come on!” Joey said desperately.

“Come on Tiegan!” Joey said desperately. “Pressures down to 50,” Beth said as she looked at the monitor, “give her some adrenaline.” “No! No! No! You stay with me, listen to me, stay with me Tiegan, I need you,” Joey said as he put his head on her chest and started to cry. “Stay with me Tiegan, I know you can’t answer me yet but I know you can hear me, just listen to me, I love you so much… I love you so much… Will you marry me?” Joey asked through tears. “Will you marry me? Come on Tiegan, you have to survive for our baby.”

Tiegan’s life now laid with Beth and Flynn, but would she leave her husband and would she give a chance for their unborn baby to survive.
