lou le belle Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 I totally agree with you there, they just seem to fit perfectly...they truely are the perfect couple!!
ste Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 Usually characters in the opening credits have an "episode per week" quota, but Barry has hardly been in any episodes at all this *year*! It's weird...
Frankie Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 Usually characters in the opening credits have an "episode per week" quota, but Barry has hardly been in any episodes at all this *year*! It's weird... I think at the end of last year he was doing stage work and was therfore only available one or possibly two days per week. This week sees the start of the episodes shot this year so I think we will see more of him. I hope so anyway.
Bareenfan Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 I think you are right. We have seen him already this week, and we know he has "words" with Kim on friday. That should be good. I wonder if Irene knows about Kim and Rachel. You would think she would notice all her furniture being mussed up. It is going to cause some problems if she does know and she has not told Barry.
Taft Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 They just don't use him because he's not young and can't be paired with another "cool" young actress so they can get it on and then fight, and then do the same thing all over again!

Sadly I think you may be right, which makes me feel rather despondant. They could do so much with Irene and Barry though. The potential is enormous. I do get fed up with the on off on off stories which surround the younger characters, it is not just about "cool" young actors and actresses. Irene and Barry have a lot of fans who would like to see them used more and together.

The younger ones will do all that, but have a mature couple as well, o'h yeh we have got Tony and Beth now but they sure as hell ain't got je ne sais quoi !
Emmadolly Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 I wish they would get back together, as they are great together. A match made in heavan
lou le belle Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 I have to say with everything thats going on in summer bay at the moment it could really do with a good strong couple like Irene and Barry

I do get fed up with the on off on off stories which surround the younger characters, it is not just about "cool" young actors and actresses. Irene and Barry have a lot of fans who would like to see them used more and together. The thing is, they've proven in the past that they can have couples who stay together and still have storylines. I know the anti-KKers will shoot me down for this one, but Kirsty and Kane were one such couple. Granted, their storylines were packed together too tightly and it left them with nowhere left to go in the end, but that was just because the writers were milking their popularity. What I'm saying is that it needn't just be make-up-break-up all the time, as with Tasha and Robbie, Martha and Jack, Cassie and Ric etc etc. Irene and Barry could be the good, solid couple who make up the foundation of the show. That element is lacking now that Sally and Flynn are no more.
