Well, I've been playing around with these two tonight, and to be truthful, I'm god damn sick of both of them

If avatars were alive, I'd kill that J&M one. Lol. It's so light! And I can't god damn make it darker!! I'm getting angry just talking about it!! Lol. It's just frustrated me... *grumbles*

Did you try using curves? They aren't too hard to use once you are used to them. There are some good tutorials on livejournal which could assist you??
