Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 I made these following some tutorials on LJ: Made these myself: I really *hate* the last Hilary one :S Am going to be honest here, i'm not sure about any of them. The first Jodi one- the lips are too..sharp, and don't match the eyes. I like the bronzey colour of the lips! And text is simple yet nice. Ashley- I'm not too sure on the coloring, and i'm not too sure about it with the background. Just doesn't suit. Brenda- The coloring is..nice..but the texture is too overpowering. I think you should of erased all the parts on her face, and put the text in the right bottom corner (or something like that). Ashley 2- This is probably my favourite out of all of them, but I still, am not sure. I like how the squares fade an all, but something's just missing. The light thing is a bit overpowering, like, I just have to stare at it, rather than the main thing, i.e. Ashley Jodi 2- The cropping is..ok, but personally, I hate center crops! If you look at most of my avatars (i'm not saying mine are good, but exampling what i'm saying..) most of them are from the side e.t.c. I like the shape but I think maybe just leaving it as a plain square would of work. I also well..hate the sparkles, I think they're just too much. Isabel- (As I've recently discovered) I don't really like it when the skin is blurred, then the eyes/lips are sharpened (a lot). I do think it looks kind of weird. The text is a little hard to see. I suggest a different colour/font. Hilary- I don't like this that much, the sparkles are too much, and need to go, IMO. But I do have to say, it's nice to see you try new styles. It's not that I hate the avatars, I do like them (in a way), but my advice is to keep trying with these tutorials, and pretty soon, you won't even need tutorials!
