Same old story in the business I once met one of my American heroes at a convention and she was 25 playing a role where she was to be 18! She wasn't going to get the role until the star of the show stepped in and gave the producers a talk about how great she would be.

Just out of curiosity who did you actually meet?

Renee O'Connor as her and Lucy were doing a XENA event in the Eastern USA in 1997 and the show wanted to cast an 18 year old for Gabreillie and she was told she too old and was about to be turned down yet she impressed the interviewers plus Kevin Sorbo and the other actors said she be great and she got the role. That happens alot you see 20 somethings playing teens

Some 20 year olds can get away with it, admittedly more female than male yet conversely older teens can look older than their age if that makes sense.  Happened with the girl who was meant to play Bethany in Corrie she lied about her age saying she was younger than 25.

Tori did admit to Nate that she hadn't told him she and Duncan were back together and they had seemed to be getting on rather well swapping gory stories and her saying no-one else but another doctor could laugh about them.  I'm not certain she has properly made her mind up who she wants to be with. It appeared Nate had himself another job lined up going by that phone call he made. Is this shoulder injury of his going to scupper his plans, methinks it's more serious than he thinks seeing as it keeps being mentioned.

It's the revelation about Raffy that's putting the block on Justin and Phoebe being together at the moment, until she knows the truth which has got to happen soon it is a soap after all.

Kat keeps banging on about the fact she and Ash can't be together as she is on probation, so does that mean once she's a fully fledged cop again it'll be OK for her to start seeing him, seems unlikely to me.  It had to happen Kat just had to be there when Simmo was lurking waiting to meet Ash so he can turn up with a tough looking side kick to threaten Ash at the garage.  Not giving anything away as it was seen in the trailer but something goes wrong as Billie finds him badly beaten.

VJ and Billie shouldn't be getting married they are far too up and own with their relationship, either one or the other storming out, that's not even including the BIG secret (well two actually).  I guess I must have got it wrong about Phoebe knowing who the babies dad really is, she obviously like the others thinks it's VJ's.

Been meaning to mention the charter business Alf and Duncan were proposing to set up, I did think it had been forgotten as nothing more was said about it once Caroline turned up, then he was going to the States, now Alf is there but Duncan said something to Roo about getting it sorted out.

Zac has had several meetings in public places, allegedly to do with school work, I can only think the other times it was with men which would be why no-one has commented to anyone else who is this unknown woman/women he's meeting, if they were men no-one would bat an eye.

Well that's 'us' till the New Year,  Merry Christmas  And A Happy New Year folks.

O"Connor never lied about hers yet I was told one ex neighbours never played a character younger that she was in real life then did so when she was on ramsey street which was the 1st time in her career. i guess there a 1st time for everything.

So it looks like nothing much has changed Ash although a decent bloke keeps making huge mistakes and errors in judgement, taking on Simmo was a big no no.  At least he alerted Kat as to what was going on as opposed to keeping quiet so as to 'protect her'.   Surely Kat has lived in the bay long enough to know by now you can never be too careful about having a secret fling.   Ash is trying to keep Justin out of it by not telling him what has been asked of him. How lucky was it that VJ went to stick his L plate on the front of the car and discovered the brake fluid, no way would Ash have missed anything like that especially on Billie's car.

NDH works it magic again as Hope is out and seemingly OK, arriving home just as Phoebe was trying to get Raffy onside. Isn't she (Hope) still awaiting her hearing for the credit card scam so Brody was taking a huge risk in employing her and her promise to Justin she wouldn't mess up didn't last long, soon had her hand in the till, she can't be planning to do another runner can she?  So much for Phoebe saying to Kat she wouldn't be allowed near the till, but I suppose it was when Phoebe went into the kitchen. Her and Phoebs are never going to get on, Phoeb can just about tolerate her at work, they won't always be there at the same time, but living together as well is pushing it too far.  Shame Hope didn't listen to Justin's warning about letting Raffy know the truth about who she really is, because as he said when she finds out, which as we saw she does, yes she is going to hate them but Hope more for keeping it from her, doesn't matter how long she/they have known.  Be interesting to see how that goes down. I think I've said before Decker brought Raffy to Hope's mum when she was a baby and Hope was 13 if I remember what she said correctly so she knows she isn't her sister but her cousin so why is she so adamant she is. What Kat said to Raffy did make her question Hope's insistence the Morgan's aren't to be trusted which she then tried to wriggle out of.

Whatever Billie's motives are for pressing ahead for getting married she is trying to get Leah involved who is confusing Roo and Irene by saying she's not sticking her oar in and leaving them to it, though of course she must be itching to, didn't take a lot in the end to break her.

I'm glad Channel 5 did the long recap at the beginning because I'd completely forgotten a lot of what happened over the break.

I found it hilarious when Ash showed Kat the photos.  And her "How did this happen?" the next day was laughable.  It's a shame Five had to cut out part of the scene when Ash laid out Simmo.  Was that really necessary?  Or are they completely toning down all forms of violence pre-watershed? Did he seriously think Simmo would just drop the matter just by beating him up?  Although funny how scrawny Simmo had to get his henchmen to do his dirty work to pay him back?

I'm glad nothing happened to Billie and VJ when Simmo cut the brakes to their car.  Don't want anything jeopardising the truth coming out.  It's good that after finding out about their engagement Leah's intuition has kicked in and she is naturally suspicious of Billy.  And she's right as well.

I'm still pleased that Hope turned Raffy against the Morgans.  And I quite enjoyed Raffy giving Kat a serve.  Can't really fault Kat as she was only doing her job but arguably she shouldn't even be working at the Force.  I think it's quite interesting seeing Hope and Phoebe working together.  Can you imagine living and working with either of them?  Phoebe really annoyed me when she was telling Hope what to do regarding Raffy and the Morgans, once again sticking her nose into other people's business.  How could Hope be so stupid as to steal again and on her first day? I want to try and give her the benefit of the doubt but it's hard when she acts like this.

I noticed that sudden jump in that scene, did they expect us to believe Simmo just suddenly fell on the floor, didn't hide anything when Simmo got his mates to beat up Ash so can't see the reasoning behind that. Simmo wasn't that stupid to think he'd be able to take on Ash & win in a fight.  I'm guessing he's gone off to lick his wounds and get reinforcements.

The Morgan's haven't done anything to upset Hope, they've looked out for her and Raffy, even before they found out who Raffy really was, done all she has asked by keeping quite and all she can do is turn Raffy against them and want to skip town every five minutes as soon as things don't go her way. Give me Phoebe any day against Hope, yes Phoebe can be annoying but she is a loyal friend and she can keep secrets. Kat, when she does do her job does it well. Of course as happens in soaps Raffy came across the truth in the usual accidental way (as Justin warned Hope it would) and Justin and Tori then had no choice but to tell her the whole story in a very sympathetic and gentle way. Justin's action in trying to stop her running away was later explained when it came out had to leave his daughter behind when they went into WP.  She looked about two in that film so would now be nine -11 not much younger than Raffy is. He must have been a pretty young dad and another hitch in his and Phoebe's relationship, I notice he didn't reveal that secret to Phoebe.  She did get him out of his gloom though.

Onto the volley ball and Matt wanting it to be all about getting hot babes involved and him and Brody both  fancying the same girl.  Despite her protests, methinks Evie was  jealous about Matt  having the hots for her. Phoebe may have not been that keen on partnering John but they were a good team and won!   Who would have thought he'd be that good at it. I also think Tori is torn between Duncan and Nate, she wasn't that happy to learn he is wanting to take up that new job on a full time basis rather than part time and Duncan has picked up on the fact they looked  a little too close.

Have to admit, quite enjoyed Simmo thinking he had one over on Ash re the stolen car thing when he went to visit him back at the garage.

The Morgans really are like a pack of vultures. On Tuesday they were selfish to the point where they cared more about having Raffy to themselves than they were about how being away from Hope will affect Raffy.  Justin was absolutely annoying in the scene where shorty after Raffy found out she wasn't Hope's sister, tried to run away from them and Justin grabbed her and wouldn't let go initially.  And don't even get me started on Phoebe.  I was almost cheering when Hope locked her in the storeroom in Salt.  Phoebe called the cops primarily because she has it in for Hope.  She's never liked her and has been jealous how Justin has gone out of his way to help Hope and even in that episode when Brody knew about Hope taking the money but wasn't prepared to do anything because he didn't want Hope taking Raffy, Phoebe declared that he was part of Hope's fan club.  I bet when the cops arrested Hope, Phoebe had the ultimate sense of self satisfaction on the inside.

The scene when Raffy came home and found Hope distressed was quite emotional.  You could see the love Hope had towards her sister.  With any luck Raffy will hate them (here's hoping) well at least for a little bit as we know she will ultimately think they are the best thing since sliced bread.  I will say that as much as I've tried to defend Hope she is unbelievably stupid. Taking money from the cash register again, 24 hours after she did it before.  I mean come on.

This whole incident has completely turned me off Justin.  So I was actually glad he was suffering on Wednesday's episode.  I said I go through peaks and troughs with Phoebe and by the end of Tuesday I was back to almost hating her.  Even on Wednesday she was back to being nosey again so I was glad Justin didn't tell her about his daughter however I did like the part of the scene where she held his hand in support.  And she was able to raise him to the point where he went outdoors to watch her play in beach volley ball and wasn't staying in with the curtains shut like a vampire.

Tori has gone down slightly in my estimation but that aside I'm not really keen on this whole love triangle thing with Nate and Duncan.  As I mentioned before I think the writers could have done a better job given that when Caroline rocked up with Bryce, Nate appeared to move on and is only interested again now that she is out of the picture and Duncan and Tori are back together.  Didn't realise Nate applied for a full time position.  I quite like him so would sorry to see him leave although I don't think I would be particularly keen on Duncan losing out either.

I quite liked the scene where Brody and Genie met for the first time and it was almost like love at first site for him.  Seemed like something out of Baywatch.  To be blunt I do think he's come across as extremely desperate.  Even though it was for charity paying $1000 just to spend time with her.  It would have been cheaper to go for a high class hooker.

Matt was quite funny.  I loved the way when he first saw Genie and declared "There is a god" much to Evelyn's dismay.  Also when he was ogling her bottom when they were playing volleyball and Evie looked at him unimpressed.  Best part is that he knows Evie's jealous and obviously likes him too.
