Irene has a washing machine.

Did you think those big piles of ironing were delivered by elves?

Alf's episode count this week:Four. Roo was also in four.VJ was only in one, although he was credited on Thursday for no appearance.

Well, James kind of went down in my estimation. There's logic to his stance but it's still a bit cowardly. These big shots never learn that the locals aren't for buying. Not that it seems to have done Roo much good. Or indeed Alf, who committed the classic soap mistake of saying "It's only a cough." If you're in a soap, it never is.Half the time it means you're dead.(Just ask Billie.Or Shane for anyone who saw that on 7Two recently.)

After her stance being understandable for a bit, Marilyn is back to nitpicking at John with her "If you do things to convince me you're a good person, that means you're not" logic.I don't know, what with Leah giving up on Zac even though she went back to Dan who'd done a lot worse (and who she never had particularly good chemistry with anyway), I'm left thinking they could both learn a lot from VJ, who thankfully has well and truly got past his daft plot device "Zac bad! VJ smash!" behaviour and is back to being a caring and forgiving soul, reaching out to John even though he's got far more reason to be holding a grudge than either of those two. That said, I'm back to being annoyed by Irene, who is back to acting as though she's expecting Leah to just get over it if she badgers her or waits long enough.I can't really say I'll miss her during her latest panto leave.

Red, I thought the fairys just did her washing. ?

I need to know what's in Irene's letter. I hope we find out. I'm just too upset with Leah right now to even listen to anything she has to say. Selling the Diner?!?! Gimme a break.

Alf doesn't look well does he?? But good on him and Roo for giving James dad the royal F U. What a joke. I hope the baby is ok but it doesn't look good. It'd be quite good to have a new Stewart, even under these circumstances.

Irene has a washing machine.

I repeat

Irene has a washing machine!

Well she did have until John got his hands on it!!:D   I guess it's a shock to see she's got one because we never see anyone use it unlike the one at the caravan park house.

We got to see the obnoxious Mr. Mavers and yes although James had no part in threatening Roo with legal action, soon shot down by Morag, it didn't stop him later trying to bribe her to stay away from the family with that huge wedge of cash. Not morally right but  he obviously thought giving Roo money to bring up their child was the better of the two options.  I can see why Roo would be tempted, as Mr.Mavers so kindly pointed out she is only a part time lecturer and she will need time off after the birth and fit her work round him/her. Alf, of course, spoke his usual wise words that yes the money would be a big safety net, but she would at some time explain why the child couldn't know who their dad was.  I don't think Mr. Mavers is used to anyone refusing him, like a lot of his moneyed type thinks money is the answer to everything.  Interesting piece of information that he already has a grandchild!

Sadly it doesn't look good for Roo or the baby if what we saw in the trailer is anything to go by.

Alf is being his usual stubborn self by insisting he's just got a cold when it's obvious to everyone it's more than that, he's just got back from Thailand FHS.  so that'll be two Stewart's they'll be looking after at the hospital. Nice little mention of Sally, Pippa and Miles.

I can see why Marilyn is upset with John, he let her believe he was doing the Black Tie event to give something back to the community when actually he wanted to impress her and show he was a good guy to win her back.  He showed a flash of temper at her which came out of the blue.  Was that random mention of Jett last week just a throw away remark do we think? VJ is acting lot more grown up than Leah at the moment who's admitted she's acting unreasonably but isn't doing much to resolve it. Have to say I'd like to know what is in that letter too. They're going to be short handed at the Diner unless Leah pitches in while Irene is away.

I found Leah pretty unlikeable Thu/Fri.  I hated how she was with Zac and didn't like the fact Zac admitted to loving her as it gives her a psychological advantage.  I even felt  sorry for Irene when Leah had a go at her even though she probably shouldn't have been discussing Leah and Zac's relationship with Roo. I do think Leah has a point about selling her share of the business.  I don't think either of them working together would allow for a particularly healthy environment.  Not just for them but for their other coworkers.  Although I guess this shows the issues of working with someone you are friends with (I personally make it a policy not to socialise with people who I work with precisely because of this reason).  Irene actually hasn't been too bad this week.  I found her mainly unlikeable because of Luc.  If you remove Luc from the equation she's actually OK.

I found the discussion with Nate and Zac interesting.  My initial thoughts were why would anyone take relationship advice from him but he does know what he's talking about when it comes to divorce and he was quite correct IMO.  Whilst I don't like the idea of Olivia and Hunter lying to Zac knowing that he's not Hunter's father I support them keeping it from him for the time being in this particular instance because I think it would just be so crushing given what he's going through with Leah.

I think Roo's been very hasty turning down flat James's dad's offer.  $250000 is a hell of a lot of money and whilst I hope nothing happens to the baby should she lose it she really will be kicking herself as this could set her up for a very long time.  The first thing that immediately occurred to me when Alf was coughing was the heart attack and brain hemorrhage he suffered a while back.  It's very possible it could be related to them given that if you've already had either of the two you are far more likely to see a recurrence (Should anything happen to either of them it will be interesting to see how it affects the episode counts).

Although VJ's forgiven John, I find it hard to believe he can go back to working with him without any issues.  He was still OK with him even after John bit his head off.

It shows Roo's morals - that she won't be bought especially when it comes to her child... Some people don't have a price.

$250,000 isn't that much in the scheme of things as a parent - less that a quarter of a house(the median house price in Sydney is over $1 million). OR the half the cost of a private education (the same article estimates over $70K for public). While it would keep you in dinner burgers for a very long time or buy a great car, it's not enough to set you up.

I had a fair bit of sympathy for Justin again, who seems to be getting it from all angles.Kat and McCarthy taking him down the station for shouting a bit seemed way over the top.And his last little speech to Ash made his point of view seem very understandable. He's spent all these years being threatened by drug dealers, lost a chunk of his family, missed out on years of his daughter's life, and just when he thinks it's over Brody decides to dive headlong back into that world and drag the rest of them with him.Is it any wonder he wants to keep him well away from the rest of them, rightly or wrongly?

I really wasn't happy with the direction VJ was taken in here.He pretty much decided he's not Luc's dad anymore which seems like a tremendous waste. For all Leah's optimistic talk of getting Luc back once the temporary custody order has expired, it's seeming more and more likely that he'll just get erased from her life.I don't think Ash did the right thing going for custody and I don't think Luc is better off with him and Kat (especially when Kat is clearly less than fully committed), so I hope we weren't meant to be nodding in agreement when VJ said so.

Given that it was the big cliffhanger on Friday, we had surprisingly little on Roo's plight to the point that I kept forgetting that she was lying in pain out there. If it is an ectopic, then the baby's got no chance, which would be as frustrating as VJ losing Luc.I know Tori told him to muck in but it did feel like Nate was getting a bit too involved for someone who doesn't actually work at the hospital. And now Alf's having problems too...

I was disappointed that given the preview we didn't get any scenes with Scarlett and Brody.  But maybe tomorrow.

Whilst it was good to see Lena in a bikini top, I was actually glad Justin assaulted her.  Perhaps he should have kicked her head in.  I generally don't like Justin and find at times I really dislike him but I was on his side in that particular instance.  He still continues to annoy me with other matters though.  I don't like the way he part owns a business (that he lucked out in getting) but is basically being a bum.  He hasn't really done anything with himself since Phoebe left.  Ash is the one that has to do all the work and juggle that with looking after Luc (especially when you consider Matt's no longer around).  I also however don't like the way Ash expects Kat to be at his beck and call.  She has a job that requires a lot more responsibility than his does and she sometimes has to work longer hours or inconvenient hours and she's also entitled to recreational time.

It was frustrating when Kat was questioning Lena although she would have been pretty stupid to fess up to supplying Brody with drugs previously.  Hopefully they'll get her on something.

I did think it was unprofessional of Tori to let Nate help out with Roo given that presumably he's not authorised to practice at that hospital.  What if she dies or even Alf when he helped out with him?  It makes me wonder if they could be up for a law suit.

I'm gutted for Roo! She's very very likely to lose the baby now and she's going to be devastated. I hope Alfs ok. However, his collapse may mean he gets checked out and we can get to the bottom of that cough.

I agree with other posts about VJ deciding he's not Lucas dad. I'm hoping it's going somewhere and he's just struggling and that's not the end of that because we've just spent months watching him step up to be Lucs dad!! I pray Leah gets trough to him. In fact, I hope Ash gets through to him it might resonate more.

Oh God poor Roo, Alf is going to feel awful for having a whinge at her for being late with his cough medicine, he knows deep down it's more than that which is why he's so tetchy about it. Alf, from what we saw, seems to have recovered enough to be by Roo's bedside to break the bad news to her.:cryingsmiley: We had the standard 'they're crashing' scene:rolleyes: and odd how a couple of weeks ago Tori was stopping Nate reviving Zac this time she's all for him getting involved. By the roadside was a different matter but this is in the hospital and Nate isn't employed there so it could open up possible law suits not that I could see Alf or Roo doing that.  She may not have any obligation to do so but I hope Roo lets James know about her losing their baby.

After seemingly lying low for a while Lena has made a reappearance and  Justin should not have grabbed her like he did and Kat was right it was assault so more than a bit shouty. Did McCarthy just happen to be passing by or did Kat call him? Natch that she would deny it all, she is the bottom of the food chain, Kat needs to dig around a little more, ask Mason for one and there will be others. Justin opened up to Ash about his fears for Brody, I knew he still loved him he's just s**t scared he'll lose him, explains why she's been ducking out of seeing him, afraid of what state he'll find him in. Was going to agree about him going back to work if just to help Ash out but would his mind be fully on the job? I know I've said this before and I'm going to say it again Ash is doing a bloody good job of looking after Luc and mostly by himself, I loved that scene of him dangling her feet in the surf!  I realise that Kat was reluctant about taking Luc on, but it happens the other way round too, men are expected to suddenly look after a baby who is nothing to do with them blood wise. It looks like things may be conspiring to split them up anyway if Kat takes up Mccarthy's suggestion she go for detective. Don't groan and say 'what with her history'?  I wouldn't imagine there are many detectives out there with completely squeaky clean records.

Damn, Leah's decided to be stubborn again and stuffed Irene's letter in  a drawer, because 'it'll just be going over the same old ground' so we will have to wait to see what it says. Honestly VJ is being more of an adult than she is. Talking of which!

Now I'm really going to upset people and say I think VJ's made the right decision, ducks to avoid flying missiles, he's not rushed into it and doesn't mean he won't be involved in her life he's just stepping back from the dad role.  It could be a good decision as the pressure will be off, it's not Leah's decision anyway so she can rant and rave all she wants. No doubt she'll blame Ash for putting pressure on VJ not giving VJ credit to have  a mind of his own.

Quite agree harrietjames, that was Mr. Mavers and James' mistake, he didn't know her at all did he?  Some people can't be bought. Yes she was tempted but listened to Alf.
