Mystery man is still a mystery. If he's wanting to get to the bay, whys he been camped out up the coast somewhere?? It just all seems a bit daft at this moment in time to me. Is he connected to someone in the bay? Is he a baddy..? If he does know someone in the bay it's all very silly to be hiding out and then clobber a 70 odd year old for no reason. Watching this space with that one.

I got the impression he was stranded there somehow (I'm assuming it was the fishing spot Alf told Scarlett about a few weeks back that can only be reached by boat) and he wanted to get out of there rather than wanting to get to the Bay specifically. Why he didn't just ask them for a lift...as you say, watch this space.

So, today.Confirmation that Zannis was in that car, not that any of the Morgans seem to have twigged.I felt rather sorry for Brody with the way Tori in particular just coldly shut him down, even though even Mason admitted he couldn't tell if Zannis was in the car or not.Why did Tori get to just walk in and take over the treatment of two of her brothers, by the way?Not sure if Brody sending Ziggy away is because he realised that fixating on her isn't helping or because he thinks he'll hurt her like he has Mason if she sticks around.By the way, has Ziggy gone native? It feels like her hair was very controlled before and then last two episodes it's suddenly been this wavy mess.Oh, and after all these years, the credits finally give Rowan Freeman's ambulanceman a name! He's Craig, apparently.

I'm starting to realise that I'm probably not going to like Ben that much. He's a numbskull, an over-bearing arrogant controlling father who thinks he knows best and never does.I should have listened to the warning bells when his establishing character moment was destroying his daughter's phone for no good reason but I got sucked in by the cool dad vibe. But his treatment of VJ here was a disgrace and I really hope there's a follow-through...except there probably won't be, we're probably just meant to see it as what men do in the same way there was no real come-back for Ash assaulting him earlier in the year.To be as fair as possible, VJ didn't help his case given that he's been winding Ben up every time they met.I wish the others had done more than shout "Stop!" a few times and then stand there catching flies:They need to make it clear to Ben just how utterly out of line he was.Maggie and Coco were annoying at times too but at least they both seemed to own it.Maggie won't last five minutes if she thinks she's going to keep control with a whistle like she's dealing with five-year-olds, that's just going to make everyone think she's a weirdo. And what on earth possessed her to call Coco "Coco Pops" in front of the entire school? Is she trying to ruin her life?

I was glad VJ was rude to Ben last week and I'm glad he continued with that attitude towards him in yesterday's episode.  I also liked how Alf basically told him to stick his attempted bride (What a few expensive beers?) and I liked how Leah just walked off and left Ben when he turned up to make peace manipulate them.

Maggie is bloody annoying.  Seriously, the way she blew that whistle and clapped her hands at the pupils when they were at school made my blood boil.  I knew she would be like this.  Part of me wishes she and Ben were in the car instead of Mason and Brody.  And it really annoyed me when Maggie went into the Diner looking all sad.  When I saw Leah's reaction to that my initial thought was don't do it Leah.  Don't allow Maggie to suck you in.  But she did and Leah ended up feeling sorry for her.  I just hated Maggie's self satisfied smug, victorious expression as it was obvious to me she was playing her.  And she openly admitted the only reason why she's attempting to help VJ is to try and get the others onside.  So she doesn't care that he lost his wife and had to give up his kid.  She is an expert at manipulation.  I think it actually comes very naturally to her.  And it's so frustrating watching people fall for it.  First Roo and now Leah although when Leah finds out what Ben did to VJ this will hopefully put things back to square one.  I really can't stand Maggie.

I do feel sorry for Coco because I see her as the innocent one (well relatively speaking anyway) out of that family.  I felt bad for her when she was getting picked on and even though I didn't really like the way she spoke to Raffy I can't argue with the detention Maggie gave that girl even though I don't think she was being entirely professional (Would she have done the same if Coco had done that to someone?).  There was also the fact she called her Coco pops in front of everybody.  She should just be addressing by her name and I guess Coco should address her as "Miss".  I'm actually really glad VJ's decided to give Coco the benefit of the doubt.  I think he was genuinely flattered at the fact she was going to that much trouble to try and impress him.  I think these two would be really good together.  I had mixed feelings about the scene when Ben found him half naked and threw him out.  In one hand it just made me hate him but on the other I could see the funny side to it and the bright side is that it feels more like VJ is a teenager (which was what I wanted) rather than being a dad and a husband.  You know I really hope something does happy with VJ and Coco as it would annoy Ben to no end - especially now.

Again it's hard to tell what to make of Ziggy.  It may have come across as though she was leading him on going to see Brody at the hospital after she told him to stop calling her but it would have looked really bad if she hadn't checked up on him.  She probably might have seemed pretty heartless.  I guess she probably still likes him a lot.  I'm glad Brody told her to back off.  He's finally relalised that he needs to do this on his own.  I didn't really like the way Tori was with Brody.  Even Justin who was the hardest on him when this all started was giving him the benefit of the doubt although I can see where she's coming from given he has form for lying and hallucinating.

I was extremely annoyed at the way Zannis just left Brody and Mason in the car like that after indirectly causing the accident.  Hopefully he will get what's coming to him.

I can't actually remember but did Zannis' car have tinted windows which is why Mason wasn't convinced it was him?  He certainly must have money behind him if he could afford a clever enough solicitor to get him bail, especially as Kat said it was set high.  I thought I heard Brody say he, Zannis, was loaded, certainly doesn't come across that way going by his appearance. They, the police, must be just as frustrated as Brody is scared not just for himself but for his family. Brody was right breaking his bail conditions by contacting or approaching him wouldn't mean a thing to Zannis, he'd do it when no-one else was around so no proof.  Same as there being no proof he caused the car crash, he'll have witnesses to swear he was elsewhere. I'm not sure if Brody did 'see' him at Salt, but his instincts were right about who was following him and Mason, not sure why you are annoyed at Zannis just walking away from the car crash, it'd be just the sort of thing he'd do, maybe he was hoping they'd been killed.  Suppose it'd be too much to hope for that he turns up at the hospital to threaten Brody and gets caught. It seems Ziggy wasn't lying to Ben about keeping away from Brody, though she did owe him a proper explanation face to face as well so good for her in that respect  and not just ignore his calls/texts so good for Mason calling her on it, though he could have let her explain. Brody should have accepted it and realised it wasn't to be for now. Obvious she does care about him though indicated by her mad dash to the hospital.   The Morgan's are very lax about their rubbish, Brody being able to find that Ice in the bottom! I don't think he would have taken it and Mason jumped the gun by wanting to take him to NA and rehab, though of course he didn't know Zannis was out on bail until Brody told him.

Always easy to say things after the event but Mason is a doctor (or on the way to being a fully fledged one) so really ought to have known not to move, but he needed to get his phone to call for help, then he kept moving when on the stretcher with his neck in a collar to see how Brody was.  Not looking good at all for Mason and not only is Brody laden with guilt he's got his family blaming him even Raffy. Tori thinks he was hallucinating as part of his withdrawal symptoms.  Got me too that Tori broke all the usual medical protocols by treating both of her brothers, I know the only other doctor, Nate, has gone but there must have been someone else?

I've having second thoughts about mystery man I now have a feeling he could be ex military and appears to have gone through something pretty traumatic, he could have killed Alf but didn't, just took his knife.  he looked very confused when wandering about the bush and I didn't think anyone fell for that rock thrown to distract someone  trick anymore. Maybe he's too scared to approach anyone to ask for help? he's obviously well used to living outdoors and hiding himself, he got back to the boat and concealed himself OK.  Anyways Alf confronts him tonight!!  Seeing as Alf got knocked out shouldn't he have been kept in hospital overnight, even if he had protested, though of course he could have discharged himself.

I have to admit when I saw the trailer for the scene with VJ and Coco I thought it there was more to it than it was. Maybe, just maybe, if Ben hadn't just heard about VJ's recent history, widower, single dad having given up the fight for custody of his daughter and not even  mentioning their previous meetings.  he may have not overreacted the way he did. Mind you even if he hadn't  it was still a caring dad walking in his house seeing his 16 year old daughter in her jimjams and a 18 year old boy with his top off!  Hope Coco gets him to calm down enough to listen to what really happened. What he did to VJ could and should be classed as assault, Leah will definitely see it that way.  Ben attacking VJ wasn't anything to do with Maggie.

Yeh, the reappearance of SBH!! It hadn't burnt down or been transported to another dimension. Maybe Maggie using her whistle worked in her old school, it did stop them yakking after all. But then she really wrecked any chance of Coco settling in by calling her by her full name and naturally the new school bully was right next to her.  Always bad enough for any child having a parent as a teacher or worse principal at the same school as you. Her, the bully, being dragged into Maggie's office and given detention didn't help any either. I liked the way that VJ tried to diffuse the situation and called round to see her later to see if she was OK, I liked his little joke about if the pity party included snacks he was in which lightened Coco's mood.  On top of that of course Coco is now going to feel bad about having a go at Raffy because of the news about Brody and Mason, but she needs to bit the bullet and go and see her and apologise and be there for her as a friend.

I suppose I should give Ben points for, eventually, apologising properly to VJ and shaking his hand, but I can't help feeling that we're going to be seeing this sort of behaviour a lot from him.I'm glad Leah got to give him and Maggie a serve, even if it did mostly involve telling tales on Coco, and Alf still doesn't seem entirely won over. They do still seem to be making things as difficult for Coco as possible, dictating to her who she's allowed to be friends with, even if they do seem to have backed off a bit by the end.VJ was a husband and father, basically still is a father, and I think it would be a waste to have him suddenly go back to dating teenage girls, but I think he could be a good friend for Coco (there's about the same age gap between them as there is between her and Raffy, after all!) so I hope he doesn't keep his distance too much. When Maggie said Coco's happier, I wondered what planet she's on, because she really doesn't seem happy at all, even if she is keeping up the pretence online.

So, with most of the Morgans having used up their three episodes and John and Marilyn once more reduced to blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameos, the other thing getting attention is whether or not some random bloke is Hunter's father. It's been pointed out a few times that the same actor played the guy Angel ended up with back in the 90s.Mentioned less is that he also played the prosecutor when Billie was accused of arson last year! Olivia was a bit pushy again, and apparently Hunter's still treating school as optional (is he trying to fail a second time?), but it was more understandable in this case.

By the way, I'm guessing Irene's throwaway remark about food going missing from the Diner is meant to be the work of Mystery Man?

VJ did seem to enjoy winding Ben up before.  Ben, as he admitted, was being an over protective father, he was once a 18 year old boy himself so knows what they are like. That's Leah all over defending her 'boy' and laying all the blame on someone else's child. I did notice VJ didn't mention the fact he was shirtless when Ben & Maggie came home.  All this blaming each other for being bad parents by not knowing what their kids are up to - they are teenagers isn't it in the job description for them to get up to things their parents wouldn't approve of? His second apology was a lot more sincere than his first following his talk with Leah at Salt. Coco is obviously keen on being with VJ as a friend but sadly he isn't and did he really have to say those words 'you're a nice kid' adding she should mix with people her own age?  He may only be two years older but he has been through more than other 18 year old lads so must feel older. Hunter kind of gave VJ food for thought when he mentioned about dad's being protective about their daughters.  Ben, Maggie, Alf and Leah did come to a sort of agreement with Ben & Maggie agreeing to show any future plans for the pier to Leah and Alf first. No mention of the flat yet?

As an after thought from yesterday Maggie had no right to tell Ben about VJ's history, that is private information and must be breaking some kind of confidentially clause.

Bit of a blow for Hunter his letter being returned and Olivia wasn't as pushy as I thought she would be, maybe she's learned her lesson after last time? Hunter did show his face at school, he was in class with VJ! Just had to be didn't it Olivia rescues the photo of Wally with Hunter's granddad looks up and sees him walking to his car.  That was, of course, after him clocking Hunter going off to school.  Now granted the bay is a small town, but trying to track one man down when you don't know where he is and he may have left town already is a big ask, but hey there he is on the shore!!  Do we believe him about being infertile due to having  mumps when he was young, did/does he believe it or was it just a line to get Charlotte into bed which is why she believed Zac was Hunter's dad? We don't know if he and his wife ever had children so until we know that I guess we should withhold judgement.  The only thing that has got me wondering is why interrupt his journey to Brisbane/Melbourne, if that was true, to try and find Hunter to tell him he wasn't his dad when he did have his return address which I'm sure he'd either would have remembered or written down.  Olivia wasn't wrong about mumps not necessarily causing infertility, it's only in severe cases like Kit all those years ago.

Good point Red about mystery man being behind the food thefts but Irene didn't mention any signs of forced entry, unless he's an expert at getting in and out of locked properties too? Not last night after all but tonight Alf confronts mystery man!  What was his rant to Roo about her thinking he couldn't look after himself, if his roaring 'What are you dong on my boat?' is anything to go by he can do just fine!

He showed his face in the morning but when VJ and Coco were back at school after lunch, he was chasing around town with Olivia looking for Wally.

Alf's episode count this week: Five!

Hunter's teary monologue about Charlotte wasn't really the emotional moment it was probably meant to be: For a start, Charlotte was probably more interested in winning Zac back and getting her fantasy family than actually bothering whose DNA was in the mix.And I guess I should point out that the judge didn't agree she was murdered.Olivia pointedly fails to join in with the chats about what a fun lass Charlotte was, given that they hated each other. The infertility subplot seems to have some rather dodgy information.Firstly, I think I'm right in saying that mumps only causes infertility in post-pubescents and it sounds like Wally was younger than that.Secondly, Olivia seems to imply that mumps doesn't cause true infertility and/or you can never be entirely certain that someone's infertile, which I also don't think is true.Thirdly, I'm guessing Irene knows about Madge Wilkins' husband from local legend: If the woman's 80 (as was mentioned a few months back) and Irene's only been in town about 25 years, her childbearing days were probably over long before Irene knew her.

Raffy pretty much had a look of horror on her face when Marilyn grabbed her for pampering but she seemed to enjoy it in the end and John's Shrek line was funny. She is going home though, right? It increasingly feels like everyone's treating this as a long-term thing which isn't the way it should be.

Confirmation that Mystery Man is the one stealing the food, although he only seems to have broken in this last time and wasn't exactly subtle about it: Were the deliveries just left outside where anyone could grab them? Alf not wanting to leave the house has been slowly building over the last few days but a talk from Scarlett seemed to right him: I wondered for a moment if Roo was frustrated at yet another surrogate daughter that Alf pays more attention to than her but she seemed okay with it later on.I hadn't twigged that Alf never actually saw Mystery Man (and neither did Justin for that matter) which explains his "Who are you?" at the end.

Charlotte being murdered sounds more dramatic than self defence on another's part. No, Red, you're not wrong about mumps only affecting post-pubescent boys and Wally did say he got it 'when he was little'.  He only assumed it because his mum told him so as I said in my earlier post you have to catch a particular virulent form to cause infertility. Wally did say he and his wife had tried for years to have children without success, assuming it was his fault,  but had never had himself checked out. It certainly explains why Charlotte believed Zac was Hunter's dad. I wonder if Wally will do a DNA test, because if he does and  he is Hunter's dad, it will mean his wife has the problem and that opens a whole new can of worms.

I think Raffy, Marilyn and John make a nice little 'family', once again, though, keeping secrets from her backfired. This time thanks to Roo who unintentionally blew their fostering plan, but they reassured her she could stay with them as long as she wanted to. A lovely touch on her part to give them her statement for DoC's about what good foster parents they would make from a child's point of view. I can't help feeling, though, they may be in for disappointment.

It seems that way that the food/milk mystery man was stealing had been left outside so he could steal it, until that last time, but how much was he taking, was he planning a voyage on Alf's boat? I can understand why Alf was feeling insecure feeling he was useless because he let someone get the jump on him.   Scarlett was right in her being able to talk to him, as she had been there and he was hit from behind, he didn't have the chance to defend himself and it could have easily been Justin.  She only saw the back of him and as she said he was a big guy who could look after himself. Not sure who was the more scared Alf or mystery man when Alf found him.  I did have to chuckle when Scarlett went to Alf's and said "That's not a knife, that's a knife" brandishing a brand new gutting knife and Alf's response "Hogan's ghost!". Yes I know that is not the Hogan Alf meant but a nice show of sense of humour by the script writers.
