Avatar Contest #111

Theme: Unique cropping.

Your challenge is to create a H&A themed icon with particular focus on cropping. Whether that is close cropping, central, negative space, or something more creative that is up to you.

- There is to be no text or textures on the icon, but colouring is fine.

- All icons should be 120x120 in size.

- PM entries to me (Jen) by Saturday 15 August 2009 by 8pm WST/6pm EST [12 noon GMT].

Good luck and I look forward to seeing your entries.

:)

- Let me know if I have muddled the time zones.

can u please tell me what u mean by textures? :)

Textures are generally extra things you add over the top of your base icon. It can be things like lighting textures, different patterns, stripes etc. I'm sorry if my explanation isn't very clear. Any help from other icon makers? As a rule, if it doesn't come with your graphic making program and you add it in extra then it is a texture. You can always PM me to check if you are unsure before sending in your entry :).

There used when making Icons to add effects to it. You can download them from places such as Texturize on livejournal, or make your own. You can drag them onto the top of your base Icon and change the setting to get different effects. They can range from Gradient styled, to text to swirls etc.

If you want, I could do a simple tutorial about the effects and give you more links? But only if you want?

Do you use Photoshop?
