Wasn't the actor who played Jez found through their reality search thing? Maybe the "celebrity" life wasn't for him.

^Yes, Simon Cole who plays him was found during 'Hollyoaks: On the Pull' it was also how they found Roxanne McKee, who plays Louise.

And Marcus Patrick, I believe, who plays Ben. Does anyone watch Hollyoaks in the City? I watched Hollyoaks Let Loose and thought it was hilarious, but in the City is pants.

I agree. I loved Let Loose, but In The City is nothing special. I don't like it at all.

Does anyone watch the spin off with Ben and Lisa, Hollyoaks: In The City? Did anyone see episode 5 on Monday past? There was a scene without dialogue, where everyone was reflecting on Kay after finding out that she'd been killed, there was a song played in it, does anyone know what it may be called? I really liked it. I wish they'd do a website, like they do for the main show, where they tell you what songs were played through out the episode.

Regarding Jez and Louise: Louise was brought in and given the opportunity to develop the character and get her teeth into good storylines and interact with all the other characters. Jez wasn't. He was ignored, disappeared for months on end with no explanation, interacted with the same people (maximum of about 5) and given no storylines whatsoever that revolved around him and was given one of the quickest exits i've ever seen.There was no build up, he wasn't in it for most of the week then in two short scenes he'd been offered a dream job elsewhere and then he was packed and left. I feel like Roxanne was given priority as she is a sexy young woman and Simon was hired as they also needed a boy so that it didn't look sexist.

I think this is similar with Jessica and Olivia. Blonde, beautiful Jessica is given a love triangle (albeit not a very interesting one), menningitis and little storylines to make her well established. Olivia on the other hand is given nothing to do except be the voice of reason in Jessica or Joe's problems and then killed off after a year claiming there is nothing more that can be done with the character. They need to try harder when they introduce new people to give them all a chance rather than single one out as the obvious favourite and ignore the rest (e.g. It's not the Justin Burton Show it's a soap with a lot more characters, some with tons of potential going to waste).

Although I don't watch Hollyoaks regularly, I totally agree. Jez was horribly underused, and in my opinion, Roxanne isn't the best actress around. I think she was chosen soley on her looks, and she hasn't done the character justice at all.

I love In the City! I prefer it to the actual show now that my favourite devious double act, Andy and Sam, are dead.
