Hollyoaks Discussion Thread

I get really attached to loads of couples and they never work out. Just from Hollyoaks i've liked:

Kurt and Natasha (she died then he married misery guts Ruth)

Kurt and Kate (he left the vilage)

Sam and Anna (he ran away with Nikki)

Jamie and Becca (he died on her)

Dan and Debbie (he died)

Jake and Becca (my absolute favourites. So tragic Becca just died)

John Paul and Hannah (he's gay)

and they're just from one soap. I'd be here all day if i mentioned all the couples i've loved in soaps. For some reason though i never go for the ones everyone else seems to love like everyone loves Will/Gypsy in H&A but i hated them and adored Will/Dani together. I must be odd.

Feels weird thinking John Paul has been there so long, he still seems like the new boy to me. Maybe it's because his first few weeks were completely uneventful.

Back on Hollyoaks topic, I have the Inside Soap here. There's an article about Amy giving birth:

SURPRISE DELIVERY

After months of trying to hide her unplanned pregnancy from friends and family, teenager Amy Barnes finally gives birth to a healthy girl this week - with her gobsmacked dad, Mike (yey!), and sister Sarah delivering her baby! But while the newborn is a complete shock to the system for schoolgirl Amy, Ashley Slanina-Davies - who plays her - reveals that the storyline did have its upside...

'It was great to wear the fake baby bump during the winter, because whilst everyone else was shivering, I just wedged a hot water bottle inside it,' laughs the actress. 'We actually shot the birth scenes the week before christmas, when it was freezing cold. But I soon warmed up with all that panting!'

The first warning signs of the baby's imminent arrival come at the start of the week, when Amy experiences stomach pains. And when she's unable to hide her discomfort from boyfriend Josh - who has no idea she's pregnant - he takes her to his family's house. 'Amy tries to convince herself that she's not going into labour, but the contactions are too bad to ignore' Ashley explains. 'Poor Josh is completely in the dark, so he offers to use some of his mum's aromatherapy oils (), thinking that will help. But while he's out of the room, Amy's waters break.'

Unable to deny what's happening any longer, the frightened girl rushes home. (Should be interested, given she's in labour!) And when Mike and Sarah arrive to find her in agony on the kitchen floor, her big secret is well and truly out,

'They're obviously stunned, but Sarah takes control and calls and ambulance,' says Ashley. 'Mike's in shock - he doesn't understand how this can be happening. But in the end, the fact that Amy's in so much pain makes him focus, and he has no choice but to help with the birth and leave the questions for later.'

It's a good thing, too, because the tiny tot isn't prepared to wait, and makes her entrance just as Amy's mum, Kathy, arrives home. She's horrified to discover what's been going on - but it doesn't take her long to put together a cover story...

'Later in the week, Kathy, Amy and Sarah take the baby for a stroll and bump into Frankie,' Ashley shares. 'Amy's ready to admit the baby's hers, but Kathy steps in and says she's the mother! Amy doesn't know whether to feel relieved or pushed out'

But as the reality of the situation sinks in, can Amy stand up to her pushy mum and take responsibilty for her own child?

'I think if she could go somewhere she wasn't known, and maybe pretend she was a bit older, Amy would gladly take the baby in her arms,' muses Ashley. 'She just doesn't have that oppurtunity!'

Kiss and Make up!

Kris Fisher and Jessica Harris finally clear the air this week, following her desperate apologies for reacting so badly to his HIV 'diagnosis'. Although both Kris and Jessica - who recently slept together - have been given the all clear, he's still hurting at the way she angrily blamed him for the health scare. And he continues to give the student newspaper editor the cold shoulder even after she says sorry on the front page (All together now - AWWW!), But when Jessica, Zoe and Kris don fancy dresss to promote HCC's Easter Ball, Jessica makes another attempt to get back in Kris' good books - by persuading Jack to give him back his part time job behind the bar at the Dog.

Although Kris appears to be unimpressed by her efforts, he evntually comes round when she stops tryingso hard to please...

NO! But I want to! Wonder why they're doing that . Did anyone else squirm then when the nurse went to put the needle in Jess' arm? Why do they keep showing that!

Ok thats it words cant actually describe the hate i feel for Will right now after todays e4 episode! When, when, when are they finally going to find out he is sick and twisted and bring him down! Poor Kris and Jess and Zoe! Cant wait til Amy finally gives birth, cant actually believe its been a whole 9 months and no one has even realised shes pregnant! Looks like some good storylines coming up! Looking forward to the funeral to see Mandy but also am not because it will be sad! Still cant believe Beccas dead! It saddens me alot! lol

I should think Jess does everything she can to make it up him after the way she spoke to him yesterday. But in the all about soap on Friday 2nd it says that Kris and Jess remain at each other throats. So I’m not sure which magazine to believe.

Lol the pictures look great don't they. Looking forward to seeing that episode, it should be dead funny. Glad to see I bit of comedy back after the whole Becca stuff.

Anyway getting back tonight’s episode. How far is Will going go with this. He’s hurt him enough leave him alone. Also how funny was Sonny and Michaela, you can see he likes her, so what’s the problem. I think I’m going to enjoy watching them if/when get together. Loved the Nancy/Louise moment also the Jacqui/ Tony bit as well made me go aww

I was a bit surprised at how nasty and judgemental Zoe was being about Kris considering they were quite close. I'm dreading Becca's funeral. I'm hoping she'll pop up as a ghost to tell Nancy and Jake she loves them and scare the hell out of Justin.

I know, I was surprsied at Zoe as well, I didn't expect her to be like that at all. I was also surprised at Jess, I know she has a right to be so upset but the way she took it out on Kris was horrible. I think the guy who plays Kris is a brilliant actor.

That Will, I can't stand him. Hope he gets found out soon but he's so clever and devious it could go on for ages yet lol

^^ I agree with everything you have just said. I’m hoping that Will is found out soon, but after everything that he has done for Kris I can’t see it happening just yet.

Kris is my favourite character at the moment. I love the way he’s totally unique, also love the way he and Jess flirt all time. It makes me laugh so much.
