This thread has been quite busy over the last few days and at the end of the day everybody has their views about it because we are only human.I really dont believe jacqui should Tony another chance because she asked him and explicitly if there was anything else and warned him that if he lies to her again thats it,and he said there wasnt and she then turned to Mercedes and she confessed about the

abortion

.He's had his chance imo to tell the truth.Jacqui is not a very forgiving character and i think that has all to do with her growing up trying to look after her siblings.The thing that upset her most about being told by Myra that she had another child before jacqui was that maybe if she had kept her first child (Niall) then the burden of having to look after the family would'nt have been as heavy.She has learned that the world is not a great place due to Myra's upbringing of her and the rest of her family,as when Myra was out all the time,jacqui was at home minding all her siblings.I think that was all going through Jacqui's head at the altar and when myra chose Tina and Carmel.Because after all that she has put into the family this is the treatment she gets.

I think the bitterness among the Mcqueens will continue now for a good while.And I know whaty you mean about John Paul how stupid having him back for an episode and a bit.It was just so transparent that him leaving was only because he only came back to film 2 episodes.He has some cheek not to stay for the funeral because if you watch it again on youtube you will see that when Niall appeared with JP after the explosion Tina was the first person to come running to try and save him and because of that she fell through the floor.So Tina died trying to save JP basically.Also I think James is a terrible actor so good riddance imo.

Exactly. The difference of opinions is essential o the show. If we all agreed and supported everything, it would be far too boring. The difference of opinion makes it all the more interesting to watch.

I'm not sure whether I believe Jacqui and Tony should get another chance. They were one of the first ships I really loved. When they first got together, I absolutely adored them and I loved how they stayed together. I love how it was a relationship nobody expected the success of. Nobody expected it to last. Why the writers felt the need to destroy that I've no idea. I'm not sure if they'll be able to get through it. This is one of the ultimate betrayals between the sisters and that on top of the betray Jacqui already feels, it's too much. I would love to see J&T come through it in the end, but I wont expect miracles. I will still feel incredibly sad to see it fall apart, though.

I never actually even considered Tina running towards him. Wow..... That's so sad. I do like JP (I do believe that's biased towards my love for his relationship with Craig, but that's neither here nor there now, since Craig isn't around), but I'm not really that sad to see him go. For me, his goodbye was when he left with Craig. This is only really because he was needed for the climax. Overall - apart from the McDean aspect - I'll probably get over his departure fairly soon. I wouldn't personally say James is a terrible actor, but I do believe his acting abilities faltered over time. He's had some amazing moments, so I'll just remember those. The McQueen family are filled with some amazingly talented actresses. And I think the strongest ones are the ones we have left, so I'm just now interested to see what they're planning to do next with them.

In terms of the show as a whole, I don't kow if it's just me, but I'd quite like to see the McQueens fade into the background for a while. Not forever and not just yet, but once all this has dried up, I'd absolutely love to see some others in the spotlight for a change. Like the Ashworths.

I cant wait for the funeral because if there's anything hollyoaks can do is death's and funerals you only have to look at Max's departure.jacqui is one hell of a complex character which I think is amazing.That is what I loved about her she has so much depth compared to the rest of the Mcqueen's.i

i think the Mcqueen's will fade away to a point and I do believe the Ashworth's are getting a storyline when they buy

I know how you mean with JP ,really the only thing I love about him was his relationship with Craig and I never imagined in a million years that their relationship would go the way it did after that first kiss in the school gym at the school dance.I thought that Craig was not going to go near him and it was one-sided at the time with JP infatuated with Craig with him not feeling anything towards JP at the beginning.The Mcqueens i think are the best actresses on British TV.Miles ahead of the BIG soap stars and are completely underrated compared to a lot of the overrated soap stars.

Sadly I dont see Jacqui and Tony lasting through this fiasco.But im happy now that all the secrets are out in the open now.For months there has been a lot of bedhopping between the Mcqueen's and their partners and it all came out in the wash due to Niall's revenge.I think Jacqui was angrier at Mercedes aborting the baby more than the fact that Tony cheated on her.

I think the aftermath of the explosion and the Mcqueen's falling apart have been amazing.The episode where the church exploded and the aftermath episode were the best episodes I have ever seen on any soap EVER.Not because of the drama but because of the writing,acting,backstory and was sooo character driven.Although the actual explosion looked like the fakest thing I had ever seen.This storyline IS going to win Hollyoaks so many awards at the British Soap Awards I promise you.

Totally agree. The rest always give the impression that they're either you love them or you hate them girls, but with Jacqui right from the start, it's impossible to feel a cosistent emotion for her. They write her so well and it's what I love about the writers. It's left for the viewers to make the choice.

The way JPC was developed was a real joy to watch because (apart from one or 2) as you say, nobody predicted the way that relationship would go. Up until the April when we found out they'd have an affair, even I never saw it happening. And I agree about them being some of the best actresses on TV. They are sadly overlooked. I have always had such a soft spot for Jennifer Metcalfe anyway and felt she was overlooked, but this has proved them all and it's sad they get so overlooked.

Awww I know. Her face when she said she was pregnant. Awwww. I mean, I love Mercedes right now, but my heart totally went out to Jacqui there.

LMFAO. So many people have commented on the fake looking explosion. I agree, it did look fake, but the absolutely laughable part was those birds after it. They didn't even attampt to make those look realistic. lmao. I *really* hope you're right. If there's one thing the big events like this prove for the show its that when Hollyoaks DO win awards, they deserve them.

oh my lord the bird bit made me cringe! and i was getting so involved too!

Also, as much as i love the mcqueens, there were times when the acting skills of some of em were really lacking. Tina is pretty poor, probably why they killed her off.

I was however, well chuffed with Jacqui. I love her anyway (most of the time) and I think her reaction to what her mum did was so understandable. Especially with all the bitterness between her and Tina anyway. Jacqui really wanted a baby and then couldn't have one, so her mum killing her off was like saying well i know you can't reproduce kind of thing. (I thought anyway)

And bless mercedes, as much as i usually hate her, she's right. She was gonna give up her life for em all. And bless her, she hadn't wanted to get rid of the baby either, but in a way, she did it for jacqui, so i can see both sides to that one.

Anyway, guess my overall opinion was thus:

Despite the birds and sometimes poor acting on some chacraters behalves i was well pleased with how they linked in Merceds betrayal, Jack's secret and Niall all into one explosion! There are so many catalysts that have been created as a consequence!

All in all: Bloody fantastic!

When they first go together I did think it was an unlikely pairing (a respected business man with a convicted criminal) and the attraction was purely physical. However when she came out of jail and they started going out again it developed into love rather than lust.

I think it’s looking very grim at the moment and even if they do get back together the betrayal will always be at the back of Jacqui’s mind. I think she would be mega-paranoid to the point where every time he looks at another female, even if it’s harmless, she will probably get into a strop (understandably of course) and it would undoubtedly cause arguments. And the fact that the betrayal was with her sister and that he got her pregnant and she then had an abortion makes matters 10 times worse.

I’m not sure if she will be able to keep the baby.

I just hope she doesn’t do something stupid and end up back inside.

Ends up seducing him. Tony and Jacqui's relationship will be over by Christmas, according to some spoilers from a magazine a couple of weeks ago.

It's so sad. They're the one relationship I really wanted to see last when they first got together. They've really screwed it up. And now Mandy's gonna get her claws into him. Why must she screw up everyone's relationships?!

Also, I hope they don't even consider a pregnanacy storyline following

Mandy and Tony's fling.

Having watched the Baby Grace storyline, the idea of Mandy and Tony having a baby together off the back of a fling they'll probably both end up regretting is a horrible thought.

If that’s the case then I will be extremely p***ed off. Although it wasn’t looking good initially I was hoping they would patch things up. As I’ve always liked those two together. Such an unusual pairing yet both of them meant for each other. Why does it have to be her? Anyone but her. It’s like taking one step forwards and two steps back. If only Mercedes hadn’t opened her big mouth!

Boo hoo! Poor Jacqui. I’ve just about had it with her. I’m so sick of this feeling sorry for herself attitude. She used to be one of my favourite characters but now I’m starting to quite dislike her. She is becoming extremely tiresome. And after tonight's display Tony should have just chucked her out. Maybe then she’ll wake up to her senses. What is the point in even trying to continue this relationship because its obvious she’s never going to forgive him?
