I think some old characters should return. I think thats the only way the show will survive.

I think a McDean return would bost the ratings hugely to be honest.

They were Hollyoaks 2 most loved characters ever , and had such a hugeeee fanbase !!

I don't want McDean to return. And yes - surprise, surprise - I am being honest. I adore them together, as you all know, but I like living in the little bubble that they sorted through their problems when Craig returned to Dublin and they're living nice and happily (As happy as they can be) again. It may boost ratings, but chances are they'll just end up splitting them up again. My nerves couldn't take it :P

I doubt McDean will ever come back, or any time soon anyway. To be honest I don't want them to. Their story is resolved, they're together, they had the sunset ending, it's over.

I'd rather see someone like Jess come back, she has unfinished business with Darren, and she could finally repair her friendship with Zoe, not to mention reunite Kress at last!!! Kris is being destroyed by this ridiculous Nancy/Ravi/Kris love-triangle, and I'd like him to leave this year, with Jess. A sunset ending for Kress!

I'd also love for Danni to come back again and finally get Russ back. Last time she was in Hollyoaks it was so obvious she was still in love with him and he had feelings for her too, but he thought marrying Mercedes was what he wanted (look how badly that turned out!). Russ and Danni back together could be the making of Russ.

Other than that, it would be great if Clare returned, which most likely will happen when Justin and Warren leave. I think bringing Philip Olivier's character from Hollyoaks In The City into Hollyoaks would be a smart move, he would up the hunk quota significantly. I'd love to know exactly what happened to Ben and Lisa as well, did Ben die or not? Bringing back Lisa would boost the ratings a lot. I'd also love to see Izzy back again, or Jude, her and Cindy would be great together.

I think it would be fantastic if Jess returned!! She was afantastic character. It would be interesting to see how she and Darren would get on after she fleeced him!!

Actually Amy I agree about McDean because the writers would just ruin them .

:o DinerLandlord bring Adam from Hollyoaks : In The City would be actually be the best thing everrrr. I loved him and he could maybe hook up with Ravi maybe

Would Ravi be his type? I thought he liked younger guys? He'd probably go crazy for Josh, considering how gay Josh looks.

Believe me I wasn't even remotely serious about Josh. The show needs some new hot guys now that Justin and Warren are leaving and JP and Niall are gone. That leaves Calvin, who doesn't really float my boat, Russ, who we barely ever see, Malachy, who's nice in a very blokey way, and Archie and Darren, who are both fit-as-you-know-what, at least in my eyes. Ravi and Ash are alright I suppose, but I'm not mad about them.

Thank god you were only joking about Josh . I was getting worried for you :P:lol:

Calvin is nice but he is just I dunno he just doesnt take my fancy either . Maybe because hes too boring

I think Russ is the best looking along with Darren and I think Ravi and Ash are quite nice as well.

I really cant see what people see in Warren either  I dont think hes good looking but then again thats just me.

Oh no not Archie !! I think he is just an uglyduckling

I'd hate to see Jess back. Was never particularly fond of the Kris/Jess thing. Mainly because I found Jess very selfish and annoying and really thought Kris deserved more. (Of course - before any Kris/Jess shippers and or Jess fans jump at me, I know people argued that case about McDean). She did got through a stage where the character WAS bearable and Jenny Biddall was really good when given a serious gritty storyline (She was fantastic around the episodes of the fire at the Dog). If she was to return I'd like to see it being something genuine, where she may actually have changed and wasn't so selfish. However, all those characters she really interacted with have all moved on. UNLESS (and this was literally just a though then) she returned and her return would ultimately put and end to the Darren/Jack/Frankie struggle. If she paid back the money she stole, maybe the Dean/Osbourne clan could buy the Dog back and all would be well in the world again. (I hate not seeing Jack and Darren working there. I miss Jack!). Plus I think - particularly with what we saw from his life in Ireland - Kris would have a heck of a lot of potential for an exit away from any of his conquests from the village (His history with Lindsey from Hollyoaks Later could ultimately provide some sort of exit. Especially since I always hoped that would be explored more on screen anyway.) Either way, I hope a Kris exit doesn't happen to soon. Surely I can't be alone in thinking Gerard McCarthy is one of the few remaining half decent actors the show has left?

And OB return could be a success, given how many fans he has, but again I'm not sure what they could do with the character. Of course he has relationships with Tom, Steph, Tony and a few others, but seeing him return without any interaction with Max would be too sad. The main reason Max worked so well without OB was because they'd built up his relationship with Steph and therefore he, Steph and Tom were a family, whereas (assuming they're still together) OB has a family with Summer. Having said that, I'll be the first to admit that OB's such a popular character anyway, he could probably be a success just by serving smoothies again. lmao.

Regarding the eye candy remaining, I can't say I'm too bothered. The only character we have at the minute I find even slightly attractive is Justin and since he's leaving, I can't say that leaves anyone else. (No wait, I lied. Darren and Rhys are pretty nice too, but hey, they're decent actors and characters, so they pass) Plus, I'd gladly lose some of these that seem to be labelled as the eye candy (Calvin, Archie, Russ etc) if it meant they could bring in more new characters and actors that actually have some depth.

OMFG read this !!!!! I am soooooooo excited .A real SHOCKER !!

Former Hollyoaks actress Roxanne McKee could make a surprise return to the soap just five months after her apparent screen death.

The 26-year-old played superbitch Louise Summers for three years before announcing her decision to quit last October.

Her Christmas exit storyline saw screen husband-to-be Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) seemingly suffocate Louise with a pillow in the bridal suite on her wedding day after she held him at gunpoint.

Her body, however, was never seen and while a hotel porter walked away with a laundry hamper, Louise's whereabouts remains unknown.

When asked at the end of last year if her ghost would be haunting Knowsley Hall - the location where her non-wedding to Warren was filmed - she told DS: "Well, Louise might not be dead! That's the exciting twist in the future....On screen, you'll feel like she's dead but depending on me and whether I want to come back for an episode in March - I might be back.

"I filmed an extra scene showing that I'm still alive. There are flashbacks which show me being killed, but then there's a flashback which viewers won't see for a while, that will be used if I choose to come back for the episode."

She added "I kind of want to come back and finish off Louise's storyline, but at the moment, I might be doing something else. It would be really good, though – I'd be going back to kill a few people off…."

Last week, DS exclusively revealed that Jamie Lomas and Chris Fountain (Justin Burton) are to finish filming with Hollyoaks at the end of the month. Their exit plot sees their characters caught in a fire at The Loft after an old nemesis of Warren's returns to the village to exact their final revenge.

Other characters in the frame to make a potential return to the Channel 4 soap for the dramatic fire scenes include Mandy Richardson (Sarah Jayne Dunn) and Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix, left).

After being booted from this year's Dancing on Ice lineup in January, Bissix said of a potential return to soap: "There is a good chance. I can't say any more than that or give anything away. Watch this space is all I'll say! I've got things coming up. You definitely haven't seen the end of Gemma Bissix in soapland this year, but I can't tell you what, where or which one."

She added: "That's all I can tell you, but that's a nice little treat for you."
