Jamey-Maria Posted September 9, 2006 Report Share Posted September 9, 2006 You certianley don't need me to tell you how dumbfoundingly brilliant that chapter was, everyone else did it for me I was just as angry as Jack (because suprise, suprise I hate Chris) but even if I didn't the descrpitions in that were written so perfectly that I could of sworn I was in Jack's shoes. I was all worked up and fuming until I read Jack say Shagging That word always makes me laugh. I find it really funny and I don't know why. Not the meaning just the word.... I'll shut up now. And when he said at the end "you've got to be kidding me" He said it at the same time I was thinking Is it wrong that in my head I'm picturing the numerous ways Chris can be killed off? Chapter 19 As the sun rose a couple of days later, Jack sat on the beach, Alex next to him, both just enjoying each others company. For the last half an hour he had been completely quiet, looking out to sea but still not feeling any calmer or any less stressed. “Jack….” said Alex gently, tapping him on the shoulder. Brought out of his daze he looked at her and smiled. “Tell me what’s wrong.” She added. Jack sighed, ‘What isn’t wrong?’ he thought to himself. “I don't know, what with the allegations and Martha, it’s just all stressing me out. I mean I know I was let off the charges because it was only one small punch but it still made me look like a complete idiot in front of my colleagues; not to mention the fact that it’s undermined my position. I’ve been put on paperwork now, and I hate that, I want to be where the action is!” Jack finished and smiled sadly. “But it’s Martha as well isn’t it?” added Alex sympathetically, gently pushing him for more information. “Yeah.” He replied reluctantly. “I’m so worried about her. She’s speaking to no one, but you can see that all she does is cry the whole day, and add that to the fact that she doesn’t want me to tell anyone about what Chris has done to her. I know I should, because she needs help, but either she’s just being stubborn or Chris really has got something serious over her. She’s not letting me help her at all, and she’s still angry with me for revealing the pregnancy to Chris… everything’s just wrong. All I want to do is live a nice simple life with my gorgeous girlfriend.” He looked at her and smiled that famous Jack Holden smile; the one that made Alex, and not to mention Martha, go weak at the knees. Alex smiled back in return. “I know it’s hard” she said, “But it will get better.” Jack put his arm around her and pulled her in towards him, feeling grateful to have her in his life. Leaning in he placed a soft kiss on her lips, that, despite brief, was fuelled with all teh emotions he felt for her. “I love you.” He said as he pulled away. Alex smiled, looking happy on the outside, and on the inside jumping up and down. “I love you too.” She said right back; and she meant it. You guys hate me even more now don't you?
