Joey’s exit was touching after what he had been through since living there, Stephanie’s death, Saul and learning the truth about his father, and that his mother had committed suicide, grieving over the death of his father only to find out he was alive and well, kidnapping Selena and being shot dead.

I liked Joey’s last scene with Saul lying dead in hospital, that is a favourite, I can remember it was pretty emotional and he said some rather fitting words to sum up how his relationship was, with his father – and a great shot at the end, if not surreal, Joey and a tearful Irene leave the room, and Joey turns to take a last look at his dead father and see’s a ghostly like Saul, opening his arms…

After a few more teenage light-hearted times, he started a relationship with a chick whom he later found was HIV positive (?). His off and on relationship with Tiegan was steady although I think he ended up being there for her more as a guidance rather than boyfriend, after they split up until Teigan left I remember he was always a bit protective of her…

The drugs and schizophrenia I remember being great viewing – although I can’t remember it all clearly…He was a pretty good character, quite unique and he always seemed to stay true to his character, I liked that… He had a good bond with Irene that was similar to how I could imagine he may have had with random women with wise words in the commune during his childhood, only this time he wasn’t being brainwashed… His relationship with Chloe was good because that too stayed in keeping with each others characters…

I have many 90’s favourites –

Michael’s death,

All of Ailsa’s psychologically crazy patches,

Joey’s mental turmoils,

Shane and Angel’s problems – loved the episode Paul returned and the clown! Really liked the scene towards the end of that episode when Angel thanks Shannon for what she did it marked the beginning of the end of the feud between her and Shane about making up the stories about Shane. And then basically straight to another cliff-hanger aimed straight at the Parrish family, yet again, Dylan has leukaemia!

I also really liked the bond between Shane, Angel and Dylan with Flathead.

Flathead was a great character, Mr Fisher and his life in the Bay was always great television no matter what storyline, whether it be comical or downright emotional – he was such a good character, and Norman a fantastic actor – and all of the cast he worked closely with (Rebecca, Shane, Maz, Stevo etc) had a great acting repour with him…

Marilyn was an awesome character!

…loads more but cant be bothered writing them right now…

I found it weird that although Ailsa was always going crazy, nobody noticed it was a recurring thing with her.

I liked Shane and Angel. Their problems (especially with Shannon), and their wedding where Angel walked down the ailse (sp?), were great.

And I loved the Chloe being raped storyline.

And I liked almost everything with Shannon. She was my favourite.

Reading her profile, I've just realised that Shannon didn't actually have that many big storylines. Yet somehow she was, and still is, a huge favourite with many people. I think that says something (ie. if the acting and characterisation is good, you don't need melodrama 100% of the time to make a good show *coughMrBennettcough*).

It's true Shannon was just a very likable person. She was well written and well acted, and I think Isla Fisher really liked Shannon as a character. She was a good person but very hot-headed and got into arguements very easily (especially with Alf), but she was also very messed up in her head.

I think her 4 biggest storylines (Obsession with Shane, anorexia, relationship with Alex, gay feelings) were all very long running storylines which is why it seems she didn't have many.

She also had the rebellious "Kye" phase which led to her dying her hair black and Pippa in a coma. I always liked Shannon, she just had a certain quality about her.....and she was one of my first crushes too!

Oh yes I forgot about that.

I remember everyone used to define their H&A fandom by whether they fancied Shannon or Selina!

Shannon is/was one of my favourite characters, she was just so likeable. Home and Away doesn't seem to have many characters like that anymore. A lot of the scenes that really stick in my head include her, such as Shannon & Selina nudging each other with their elbows in episode 2000 after they had fallen out, and Bert (Pippa's dad) telling her during her anorexia storyline that "Men like to have something to hold onto" or something like that. I think I liked her because she came across as really confident, but really she wasn't very sure of herself, and I think alot of people could probably relate to that.

"Men like to have something to hold onto"

Hehehe I have that episode. Also (in the same episode i think).

Shannon storms in and slams the door.

Bert: At least we know the door's closed.

Shannon: Oh shut up!

Shannon storms upstairs.

Pippa: Did Shannon just go upstairs?

Bert: Without even touching them!
