Now Brush A design you want on it in white

Now above all layers make a new layer. Set the same Blending Options. Now make a stroke across it in white. This is where your text goes.

New Tut from me. Involves Selective coloring- sorry PSP users.

How to go from this: asht1.png To this: asht3.png

1. Open base. Sharpen/Crop/Resize e.t.c. I didn't sharpen.

2. Duplicate base, set to Screen @ 100%. You may need to fiddle with the opacity, depending on your image.

3. Make a new Color Balance Layer. These were my settings-

Midtones: -45, -5, 24

4. Duplicate base, and drag to the top. Desaturate and set to Softlight, 30%.

5. Make a new Hue/Sat Layer. These were my settings-

Master: 0, 27, 0

Red: 0, 13, 0

6. Make a new Selective Color Layer. My settings-

Reds: -88, 0, 54, 0

Yellows: -81, 0, 49, 0

Neutrals: 20, -14, -31, 0

7. (This step is optional, I suppose)Make another Selective Color Layer. My settings-

Neutrals: 0, -8, 12, 0

This is what my icon looks like now:

8. Something was missing, so I added this random brush made by me in white.

Finished. My result:

From this: 1-1.png to this: 4-1.png Using Selective Colouring and Curves.

Please remember it's simply a guide, and you should experiment with your own colouring!

I was wondering if anyone could help me with masking?

I have downloaded some brushes like this Untitled-1.png and I was wondering if anyone could help me to get it to look like this paintingsummer_sunflowers.png

Use the magic wand tool, and go over the black part. Only the black part should now be selected. Hit delete on your keyboard.

EDIT: Ok, that doesn't work. Here...I made this:

mask1.png

Just apply it in white, as a brush.
